“You can’t party all the time –
especially in January!”
Neon Hitch

January 2017

“On our patio
Tiny flakes of snow
Flowing down slow
Curiously dancing
To the tune of the banjo
Almost like a nature’s show
Of the flamenco,
Dreaming like I was in Rio de Janeiro…”

“Whoa!
Did your head get a blow?
It’s only January the second, Joe,
And you’re dreaming,
In the colours of Picasso!
Lay off the booze
And go, have a snooze!”

January 2017

If you are really smart
Today,
You’ll get a fresh clean start
Gone is the darkness
It might have been harmless
But caused a lot of anguish

From onward of this date
With the fresh clean slate
Hold your head up high
Look far into the sky

But heed this fair warning;
Or else, you may get stung
Because, onto your tongue
A snowflake, may be landing!

“And finally Winter, with its bitin’, whinin’ wind,
and all the land will be mantled with snow”
Roy Bean

Snow Day

Still growing strong
After a very long
Cold and hard winter
“Ha, you said you were going to be the splinter
But we won this sprint eih!”

Snow Day

The wind
But a whisper
In the winter’s shiver
When crossing
The frozen river

Snow Day

Huddled together
Without a tether
In this freezing weather
They are still glued
To each other

Day Dreaming

For just a split second
The window view beckoned
Peeking between the shades
As the sun slowly cascaded
Soon enough the sky was grey
As the light had faded away
Possibly to be seen again
Tomorrow

Polar Day

Blue day on Monday
Blue day on Tuesday
Blue day on Wednesday
Blue day on Thursday
Turquoise day on Friday…

See where I am going with this?
Oh, weekend, Thou art such a bliss
Why cannot it always be
Friday for me?

Blue day on Monday

Expectations

“Season’s Greetings”

Splayed across, a mundane postcard
The image looked more like
Something from my backyard

“Well, it is the season of dreaming,
So who am I the one of ill speaking!
Happy Holidays to one and all
Living in houses grand, or small!!

Cold Path

A walk in the snow
Was going quite slow
Footfalls immediately covered
Where the cold wind blows

Those who sang
“Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow”
Did probably never their nose blow

For, a runny breathing apparatus
Will soon bring up the stomach flatus
And this will bring a halt status
To your little afternoon practice

But never mind
Just trying to rewind
Out here in winter wonderland
Hoping not too freeze
Where I literally stand

Night Wish

Wish, upon a star
The elves would bring
A big cookie jar
A reward up to par
Would be a tune played
On the guitar
