The Blue Wheel of Light

“The glowing blue wheel brightening the darkest of nights“ Gun Roswell

The blue against the black, against the backdrop of the darkened night sky, the wheel of somewhat fun, but also, the wheel of hope, at least for those, whom are in the total darkness lost, bringing light ever so far, and so bringing the hope, for them to find a way home, having stumbled in the long night for so long, their feet, none too strong, but as soon as the wheel is to be seen, they too know,  not all is for good lost.

Esplanade – Helsinki

“Take a walk around the city, it’s not that big so it will be easy.” Gun Roswell

Down the esplanade
We like to parade
With a gentle sway
For a while in the cafes stay
Until summer will fade
And to indoors we will trade

Orange and Tall Shadows

“It might be late in the summer, autumn time even, but the colours are as vivid as ever, in the local small market place“ Gun Roswell

Helsinki, Finland

The shadows so tall, as the setting sun is going down, now the summer is finally over, but fear not, as the colourful tents at the market place, will continue the spirit of the warm season long until the end of autumn, only disappearing with the first signs of snow, and even then, the more bolder shopkeepers, will brave the elements, while setting up their orange tents each and every day, until the winter storms settle over the place for good.

Helsinki Skyline

“The city ever changing, but some things simply remain the same” Gun Roswell

Helsinki, Finland

The city might be small in comparison to so many others, but there is no reason, to neglect and not to check out what it has to offer.

It may lay out there far in the north, but having its own mirth, with old school buildings, surrounded by the blue seas, the pearl of the Baltic Sea in a way, so do, stay for a while.

The gadgets small too, with a more than few sights to see, or then a tour around the city skyline, on a boat small but with terrific views, which ever way you choose to travel, this place, will not leave you in peril.

A visit to the big city (small)

“It’s winter, true. But sightseeing can be fun during those times too, especially in a smaller city, even if it is really close to where one lives.” Gun Roswell

The notorious part of the town
Clad in a glorious white gown
Don’t let the history fool you
Sit down on a bench for the view
Beautiful in summer or winter
No longer a sore splinter
Of the great city of Helsinki

A visit to the City

“Sometimes, one likes to get out of the suburbs and venture into the big city. Well, in this case, more like a small one but yeah, Helsinki can have some nice sights to see, even in winter.” Gun Roswell

When left is nothing more to shop
Many of the passengers at the bus stop
Eagerly into a transit will pop
Keeping a distance to the strangers
Good Lord knows what dangers
May lurk behind a simple “hello”

We’re headed to the seaside, in the middle of the town!

“Sometimes, there is water in the middle of the city, or is the city by the shore?” Gun Roswell

This, is the scenery
Which is, greeting thee
As thee be arriving
And into, the port gliding
To the City of Helsinki!

The Market Square

“The busy and narrow streets of old town beckons for shopping and whatnot, it’s a warm summer’s day after all!” Gun Roswell

The hustle and bustle
The use of the rustle
All the customers
Lurking about this summer
The Market Square
The biggest fair
This side of town
The jewel of the crown
Bursting with life
Peacefully, without a strife
Roaming the stands
Even if not a fan
You may enjoy the ambiance
So come on down and take chance

The Yellow Bike(s)

“Take a tour around the city of Helsinki, riding a yellow bike for the day” Gun Roswell

The Yellow Bike(s)

City bikes of yellow
For every gal and fellow
Driving by and waving hello
Before we break for jell-o

The narrow street

“Take a stroll along the narrowest of streets, it’s not wide, but you’ll fit!” Gun Roswell

The narrow street

It might just be the most narrow street in the city, if not even the world, but once you are on it hurled, possibly when taking the wrong turn, simply keep on going, move along, walk through, as the end of it will be insight soon, and then you’ll be able to get, to a much more wider and comfortable set, of crossing streets, well, at least, something similar, perhaps, even the market square, that should be open and wide enough for you to finally breathe?
