Dolls and Carpeting!

“Deck the halls with Dolls a hanging,
Fa la la la la la la la!”

All kinds of oddities, amongst these commodities. But what scared me the most,
was not the ghost, of Christmas past, but the barbie like dollies, hanging with faces filled with the jollies!

As the initial shock subsided, I decided, it was time, for some unique furniture. And what better,
than a chair filled with carpets! Who ever thought of that, must have been the smartest!

Sponge Bob’s Cousin and a few Hats

img_3554

When browsing the market, trying to figure out what to get, for friends and family, to find that sure bet. So, who did we run into, but Sponge Bob’s cousins! And best of it all, you could get them on a dime a dozen! What a big family!

When in Rome, or in this case Kos, try on a trendy hat. Center of the attention you’ll soon be, in good or bad that may be, when people on the street will shout “Won’t you look at that!” But never you mind, just be kind, smile and do a little routine, like Gene.

Bargain Hunting

Jewels, porcelain and knickknacks. Some of it handmade and made to last.
If you were looking for a bargain with some local jargon, then this is the place.
So many shops and nice things, you could spend a few days! Shopping that is 😉

En route

En route, in a crowded bus. Time for a selfie, but of course.
On today’s menu: Shopping, shopping, shopping, with a break for lunch and plenty a coffee!
Weather forecast: Sunshine and extremely hot, leaving sweat stains on every spot.
Remember to drink plenty of fluids, because dehydration, can be an ugly sensation!

What are you looking at?

“Are you looking at me?
You, looking, me?”

“Nah, I’m just resting here for a while
It’s cool, hope you don’t mind!”

“Well, as long as you remember,
You are in my turf now
So just move along before the clock hits September!”

My Spot

“Damn it!
There she is again, hanging around, looking, staring, squatting
and clicking that damned box in her hand.
I can’t stand it!
If she won’t leave, I will jump up, draw my nails and then;
‘pow, ping paw’
Quicker than a saw
Scratches be yours and satisfaction be mine!

But, alas, I am so-ooo tired
Too many mice last night I fired
Oh why, oh why,
Can’t she just leave me be, sleeping in here,
Sleeping, here in my spot!”

Making Friends

making-friends-3

Furry and purring
A real little bundle of joy
Shouted “Ahoy!”

“Are you here to make friends,
because you don’t want to be my enemy”
She said
As out of the bushes she stepped

“Because this is my turf
Which daily I surf.
So what’s it gonna be, smurf?
Scratch behind my ears
Or I’ll scratch you until your eyes fill with tears?”
She acted real tough

But, withholding my snicker
My heart flickered
A good scratch behind the ears
And a little more under the chin
And all I heard after that
Was some grateful purring

A Day in the Town of Kos

Plenty a sights to see, from the ruins of old to the more recent palm trees.
Early morning take off, with a huff and a puff and a scoff, we managed to catch the bus, without too much fuss.

A few stops on the way, to pick up many a stray, or possible tourists from the nearby village 😉
We were en route, the roads not so smooth, traffic heavy, especially when nearing the city.

Finally, arriving. One hour, in a minimalistic bus, where knees were hitting your chin, and barely managed to squeeze your derriere into the seat.
Now, finally free, to do as we please!

First stop, archeological digs! If we can only get across the heavy traffic street!
Eventually, reaching the site, reading the map, filling in the gaps and enjoying the views.

“Snap, snap, snap!”
Now I recorded that!
Nice memories to enjoy now and in the coming years.

Each ruin tells a story. What, who, why, when, can you picture from the remaining frame?
History unfolds, as now and for years told.

Midday: The sun burning on the skin, sweat pouring even from my chins!
What to do?
A light lunch, or call it a brunch?
After that, a fully packed afternoon, with fun filled adventure: So into the trenches, we are ready for more, what ever this town has in store!

Much later: the fortress has been thoroughly searched, for whatever secrets in there lurched.
Now, before heading home, or the borrowed accommodations, for this week’s station:
Shopping, shopping, shopping!
And then…
… to crown the day, a healthy can with sweet, sweet ice coffee inside! Oh what an joyous ride!
