Vamos a la playa!

“Heading for the beach, as it’s in walking distance, so just at reach!” Gun Roswell

Into the harbour and down to the beach
Plenty of scenery if that’s what you seek
Blue skies, sunshine and warm weather
How could the holidays get any better?

A road trip taken

“Small villages have it all, the history, the scenery, the cute homes, just take a trip and look around.” Gun Roswell

A road trip to a nearby village
If we were Vikings, we’d certainly pillage
A quaint little place
A while everyone stays
But later it’s time to set sail
And back to the resort trail

Life on Lanzarote

“It’s an island, true, harsh, but warm and sunny, so yeah, can be good?” Gun Roswell

Seaside and seagulls
Sailboats with long hulls
Blue waters and skies
Would have stayed longer,
But oh, how time flies!

Lanzarote Part Three

“It’s like a blast from the past, all that volcanic land!” Gun Roswell

Scenic views
Ocean of blue
Fluffy clouds
Dancing allowed

Palm trees
In abundance
Sunshine
With substance

Lanzarote Part Two

“Something about the island far far away, out there on the ocean… something mysterious?” Gun Roswell

A stroll around down town
A Lidl and a few shoeshops found
Time for a scenic break
Before to the road we take
Down to the busy harbour
Checking both port and starboard
Both filled with tourists a flocking
Guess it wasn’t shocking
After all, a pleasent place
A seashore the perfect interface

Lanzarote Part One

“Something about the island… something volcanic?” Gun Roswell

The skies the colour of blue
Clouds fluffy, but far and few
Sun shining ever so brightly
The pool beckoning and inviting

The dwellings painted in white
This definitely is our “campsite”
Home away from home for a week
What else could one want or seek

Monumental on an Island so Blue

“The island in the middle of nowhere, turned out to have so much more to give, than just a deserted beach side view“ Gun Roswell

Monumental on an Island so Blue

The small airplane, slowly landed, onto a narrow strip
As of this day, it is the start, of this one, and special trip
It was not expected, nor was it, really ever planned
But soon enough, the expedition will start, of this unknown land

A tiny island of a thing, was that a wish or a plea?
What on earth, could there really be, to see?
Jungle with buzzing insects, a small hut and no running water?
That were the best guesses, for this, well eternal explorer

Still, the hopes were up in the air
When entering on the promised fare
As this was some much deserved time off
From the daily huff and puff

But what then turned out to be
Anything and everything dull and bleak
Was an expedition, of profound proportions
Something not soon to be forgetting

The island, was anything but lacking
The options multiple with all amounts of trekking
Views and vistas filling the eyes and mind
There really was no other place like this kind

Monuments, art and history, and not forgetting the rest of it
Architecture, animals and people, never anything simple
Colour and nature, lush would be the most apt description
All of it so plentiful, the cameras memory filling as did mine

What was supposedly a dull few days of relaxation
Turned out to be so much more, on this little island
Where the time on strong and fast wings flew
On this, totally monumental even in the colour, of true blue

A land filled with rocks and lava
Taking it easy with a cup of java
Especially since it’s as hot as a sauna
But still, this is almost complete nirvana
