Summer days in suburbia
Might end up in utter hysteria
With neighbours, staring at you
Simply, because there is nothing to do

When exploring all the unknown places
Watching for any unexplored traces
What ever may come, we’ll gladly embrace it

Staycation, a vacation, of a diffrent kind
Excellent choice, when you just try to unwind

Rain or shine
Just keep rollin with the twine
Life, will be, just fine
Expect, the sun to shine
Go out, to dine
So what, if you only have a dime
You can pretend, you’re a mime

At my station, on the windowsill
I try to sit, oh so very still
Observing, memorizing, mesmorising
Watching the sun set and the sun rising

No hurries, no worries
Time is standing still
I shall enjoy, the summer flurries
Even, if it takes all my power of will!

Smokey Friday part one

Smokey Friday

Smoke, on the water, smoke, on the asphalt, smoke in the air: That is not fair!

Friday was finally here. A time of joy, a time of parties, a time of all the things you could not do during the week, because you had to get up early and that meant going to bed early… see where I am going with this? Yes it was just that time, Friday, the day, freedom begun.

But as most of us may have feared, the weather gods in their great wisdom, had decided our fates to follow an other path. The cold damp outside, just made you want to stay indoors, close the curtains, cover the doors. Light up all the candles… oh this was certainly a scandal!

Smokey Friday

Foggy, cold, damp. Do I need to this list add? Oh why was this weather made to last?

I could not wait to get out of here fast!

Staring, at the bright coloured images on the wall, that moment trying to stall. Memories from the year last, were filling my mind fast. Wondering, was it still possible? Maybe if I let something go?

Thinking, thinking, thinking. One more look outside, and there it was: I had decided.

Running into the bedroom, opening the closet door, taking out my suitcase and quickly, not deciding,

taking out some clothing. Sooner than later, the bag was packed. I had just stuff grabbed and now on my way downstairs, passport in one hand, suitcase in the other. Anything else, I could not be bothered.

Calling the taxi, anticipating, blasting, why I had not thought of this sooner.

Never mind, better later I told myself as the taxi arrived and it I hailed.

The door slammed shut, I was sitting on my butt and on my way, where ever, because here I could not stay: preferably sunshine and sandy beaches, as far as the eye sight reaches….

Skeletons in the Closet

“If you cannot get rid of the family skeleton,
you may as well make it dance”
George Bernard Shaw

Skeletons in the Closet

I found some skeletons, deep in my closet
I don’t know how they got there, possibly it was a good idea as a deposit
Now, I know this house is old, drafty and has leaky faucets
Yes, and it has caused quite the dent in my wallet

But as you can probably surmise
And imagine my total surprise
When these bones from the past
Out from their hiding splashed

So now, I am sitting on the floor
Carefully watching the door
Hoping to get these bones ridden
To a place safe, secret, away hidden

Unfortunately, at this day and age, I don’t have a time portal
Which could aide me to turn back time and make all normal
Make past things right, to not to run away from the fights
But, now I can only try to hide, that which I once let slide

People in glass houses, should not throw bones
Keep off your microphones and telephones in your own homes
You can never be too sure or safe
So just remember to lock your secrets in a very safe place

Tea (and some Vodka) for Throwback Thursday

This weeks TBT is dedicated to Tea, the dark liquid and life saviour (well, most of the times ;P).
Enjoy these gems from the archives!

Tea, Earl Grey, Hot
I may not be Everyone’s Cup of Tea, but I am Someone’s Double Vodka

I may not be Everyone’s Cup of Tea, but I am Someone’s Double Vodka

“If you don’t like me, fine.
It’s not my job to make you happy”

I may not be Everyone’s Cup of Tea, but I am Someone’s Double Vodka

You don’t have to like me
Or be my friend
I am not looking for a life partner
Just someone to understand

If you expect to mend
And change my existence
I’d rather you just pretend
Then try to fix it

Somewhere
Someone
Is buying
What I am
Selling

I may not be
Your cup of tea
But surely some one
Prefers me
As their double vodka

“Make it so!”
Captain Jean-Luc Picard

Tea Time!

Tea, hot, with a twist of lemon
Maybe enjoyed even in Bremen
The delightful aroma
Can lull you to a coma
In company or solitude
It is a prelude
To a life’s passion
A sweet sensation
When into the dark liquid dipping
Whether gulping or sipping
Enjoy the moment of pure bliss
For who could resist
Tea time

Tea, Earl Grey, Hot

“Enjoy life sip by sip, not gulp by gulp”
The Minister of Leaves, The Republic of Tea

Tea, Earl Grey, Hot

Slow down
Listen
To the world
Around
Forget
That strife
Just Enjoy
Without a ploy
The simple pleasures,
Purest treasures
Of life

A cup of tea,
Plain and simple
Easy as
Your A, B, C
Soon you’ll see
A dimple
On your cheek
Will sneak

Breathe in
Breathe out
Relinquish
All doubt
Nothing to it
You can do it
Relax a while
It is no guile

Soon enough
The moment
That should have
Forever lasted
Has passed
You are back
On track

Remembering,
Hoping
The moments
Between now
And running out
To the
wide open
Would last
Longer than
A token
