Mundane Monday

“I now find magic in the mundane. I’m also more creative – better able to look beyond the obvious and come up with new story angles.” Deborah Norville

Red Light on Monday

Don’t run
Against the red light
You might
Get a sight
If the coppers
Are watching
In their choppers!

Sunshine on Monday

Look, who decided to show up
And here I was starting
To get all wound up!

Quickly, up from the tub
Grab my favourite cup
And outside,
With a huff and puff
I go
And none too slow!

Before, that is,
My favourite show
On TV is up!

Rain on Monday

The snail’s predictions
Done, with convictions
Brought us destruction
With a set of storm and rain
Falling heavily,
Onto, the open plane

Dark Clouds on Monday

Ominous and eerie
Even though, in theory
It was still summer

Feelings of weary
Vision getting blurry
Starting to worry
As the weather
Was getting glummer

Colour Coordination

If you want to make a statement
You need to be colour coordinated
Dressed in matching outfits
With all of your surroundings

Apples

apples-1

“How about them apples, then?”
Asked Sven

Sinking his teeth into one
He knew he had just won

“I’ll give this a full ten!”

Mayweeds

mayweed-1

The flowerbeds’ seed
Looks like weed
But, pretty indeed
Let’s call them
Mayweeds
Even, if it’s summer!

Mushrooms

mushrooms-1

Look what the rain brought:
Mushrooms, and not store bought
Popping up from the ground
Making a squishing sound
And waiting to be found

Closed Gates

“What can be found,
behind door number two?”
Surely a question,
Answered only for a few

Chocolate bars on a Rainy Day

raindrops-keep-falling-on-the-table-1

When it rains and pours,
Thunderstorm with lightning
Can be very frightening
All the outside flickering
Windy draught, from all doors
Better not stand there shivering
Get under the covers
Think, what wonders you can discover
In a big, big chocolate bar!
