Cathedral for Every Day

“I wish someone would ask me to design a cathedral”
Philip Johnson

Cathedral for Every Day

If you want to pray
Where ever you may
Or just a while to stay
In a sunny ray
Looking for a cabaree
Or an afternoon matinee

Just enter into
The Cathedral of Every Day

You don’t have to pay
Or even a dragon slay
There is no doorway
Nor any kind of role play
There is no colour grey
Only a colourful array

When you enter
The Cathedral of Every Day

“You can’t depend on your eyes when your imagination is out of focus”
Mark Twain

Focus

Spending the late time watching
Out of the window a glimpse catching
Behind the safety of the glass
Hoping the rain pour would not last

Suburban streets dark and damp
Not even the brightest street lamps
Could brighten up the lonely night
The storm was now, in full mode of fight

Focus

“Focus”
She cried out loud

“Just zoom in, and focus!”

In front of them, an odd vision
Like some kind of a blurry apparition
It was soft, round and yellow
Like some hound from the old hell-o
The two snappers
Standing scared of their crappers

“Did you get it on film?”
She whispered

“Sure did!”
Her companion whispered back
“Now, let’s get the heck out of here
Before that thing comes after us!”

Order (TDP)

Did you order a seat in the Sun or Shadow?

“Welcome Madam
My name is Adam
I will be your host
For this evening most
Did you want to place your order?
Maybe sit on the sunny side
Or the shadows now taller?
What ever you choose
There is no way you lose
Be your order
Tall or shorter”

One Size Fits: Order Now!

“One size fits all!
Order now and go to the ball!”

The ad kept on repeating
My shoe desire re-heating

Boiling,
Thinking myself spoiling
Finally
And quite decidedly:

“What do I have to lose?

For when in Greece,
Enjoy the streets
In a nice pair
Of new leather shoes

In Orderly Fashion

Like a choo-choo train
Crawling in orderly fashion on the lane
Nope, this is not Spain
And it did not even rain
It’s just a regular traffic jam
With all the vehicles tightly crammed
Even at this hour
There is no turning sour
Just set your gear to slow
And enjoy this colourful metallic show
