Colours and Candy for Mundane Monday

"Life tends to be an accumulation of a lot of mundane decisions,
which often gets ignored"
David Byrne

Candy

A bowl filled with candy
Would cheer up even Mandy
Keep it handy
And you’ll never go cranky!

"I stare at myself in the mirror and I think,
'Wow, I'm really great-looking.'...
I think I'm the greatest, anyway"
Iggy Pop

Selfies in the Mirror for The Daily Post

I am the prettiest of them all
At least after too much alcohol
Trying to stand here very tall
Realizing I really need a total overhaul

Selfies in the Mirror for The Daily Post

Admiring our own reflection
From each and every direction
Ducky lips, eyes transfixed
Oh what ages we live in
It’s really hard not to give in
To the prettiest face staring

Selfies in the Mirror for The Daily Post

Around and around we all flock
Each other’s views trying to block
Stabbing each other’s backs
Until the mirror almost cracked

Mirror Mirror on the wall
Who really is the prettiest
On the selfie-sticks of them all:
Me, you, or the neighbour’s dog?

Suburban Living for Mundane Monday

“I’m Canadian, so I’m an expert at mundane fatalism.”

Suburban Living for Mundane Monday

Something old
Something new
Something borrowed
Something blue

An image from yesteryear
On an odd surface appeared
Reflected against the modern
In this city of the northern
A reminder of older times
When living was ‘roses and wine’
Or so they say,
To keep the youth astray

But whether,
Something old
Or whether,
Something new
Even with
The best of view
Both still could be
Golden

Framed for the Daily Post

“It is difficult to see the picture when you are inside the frame.”

Framed Landscape

Blue skies and sunfried fields
From the bus window do I see
Only a few moments
But time all well spent
And now my reward
Is permanently stored:
A framed landscape
Recorded, onto tape

Framed Ocean View

A perfect hideaway
With a view
Towards the bay
A framed display
Only for today

Child’s Play for Mundane Monday

“I now find magic in the mundane. I’m also more creative – better able to look beyond the obvious and come up with new story angles” Deborah Norville

Child’s Play for Mundane Monday

“Look at this drawing pretty”
She stated quite wittily

“I made it for you
To make a copy or a few,
Because I knew
You needed your passport to renew”
She smiled quite happily
Of her clever execution
To my problem’s solution

Left and Right for Mundane Monday

“Life is mundane without the new and unexpected. I guess that has been and continues to be my downfall… I’m constantly searching…”
Adria J. Cimino

Left and Right for Mundane Monday

Passing,
The right side
Moving,
Towards the left side

Which side?
It’s really
A matter of perspective
The other right
Or the other left
The mind subjective

Do I have to choose
What if I loose
What is good for the gander
May not be good for the goose

Better then
To stay in the middle
Because
In the end
Life is a riddle
