“Because it’s a bench”

Old Town Benches

Sit down
Have a rest
In the old town
No need for stress

The history
Of this city
In one glance
Fall into a trance

Close your eyes
Let the millenia
Take you down
The memory lane

“Share each Friday, on your own blog, one photo…or maybe even a gallery of some of your favorite photos that you have taken during the week, that make you smile or that was a great photo capturing opportunity…anything really! And as photographers are often known to say, “The best camera is, the one that you have with you!”

Favourite Photo of the Week, 2015-11-20

For this week’s favourite photo, I have chosen the one tagged as “Tricolour”.

This photograph is related to the recent events in the most gorgeous city in the world, that of Paris, France. It was originally posted for the “SL WEEK” photo challenge, run by Sylvain Landry , titled “Bleu, Blanc, Rouge”.

This week’s theme: Garden Treasure

Creatures of the Back Yard

They are strange and rusted
Quite possibly really busted
Those little peculiar creatures
Of my own back yard

It’s all part of nature
Despite the man made feature
Those little odd beasties
Of my own back yard

You really got to love them
They may be impure gems
Those little strange beings
Of my own back yard

Bleu Blanc Rouge
No time to sing the blues
It is the time to choose
Freedom

Blue, White, Red
The colours for which
So many have bled
Freedom

The three coloured symbol
In its presence we feel humble
Even though very simple
We can only think of
Freedom

“Our daily lives are so mundane, we get taken over by what is immediately in front of us and we don’t see beyond that” Benedict Cumberbatch

Phone Home?

A dialer device
From a different era
Had to suffice
Let me tell ya
An analog connection
No visual perception
No texting
Sure no sexting
Just a calling machine
The only mean
For ancient times
But oh how time flies
Now we all have
A mobile device

Que Sera, Sera

“The judge told me to approach the bench. We were in a park”Jarod Kintz,

Painted Red

The only bright spot
In the entire parking lot
In the midst of suburbia
Causing a minor hysteria
The colour of reddest red
Some say, it joy may spread

Carefully trying to sit
Just to see, if it is a fit
After I little while
I started to smile
The colour seemed to be
A perfect choice for me

And soon enough…
As far as the eye could see
All the red painted seats
Were occupied to the extreme

There is something to be said
Of the colour red
It never leaves you cold
Yes, and I too was sold

“Say goodbye to the oldies, but goodies, because the good old days weren’t always good and tomorrow ain’t as bad as it seems.” Billy Joel

The Good Old Times

In the good old times…

Everything was cheaper
The sky was much bluer
The summers were longer
The winters were colder
The children played nicer
The women were prettier
The men more handsome
The songs were chansons
The television shows were better
Complaints were written in letters
The world was wider
Everyone drank cider

And over all…
Everyone had more fun

In the good old times!
