Good vs. Evil for Mundane Monday

good

“I believe you can make forces of good and evil work for you, to get what you want” GG Allin

Good vs. Evil(?)

They say it is good for you
Healthy type of food
You must eat it
Possibly, even enjoy it
But who can really resist
The tempting siren song
Of the sugary spawn
Of a glazed donught
They said not to touch
But I really wanted it so much
Sneaking it out
In a hankerchief no less
I must confess
I ate the whole thing
With one big bite
Just out of spite
I really, really enjoyed it

A Bench to Sit on

“I don’t generally like running.
I believe in training by rising gently up and down from the bench”
Satchel Paige

A Bench to Sit on

I was looking for
A bench to sit on
What I hoped to score
Something close to a lawn
To lay my tired self
On a softer shelf

Then I saw it
The bench, made of stone
When I tried to sit
I felt it to my bones
Too hard for a fit!

Moving forward
I found one, made of wood
Maybe it wasn’t hard
Rather suitably good
Too soft for a fit!

So once again
I had to complain
But I knew, the right seat
Was just in reach
I just had to seek

A little while longer
As I moved along
The feeling now stronger
I knew it wouldn’t be long
I was close to finding
As I saw the metal shining

I finally found it
A bench made of metal
For me to sit
Soft as a petal
A purr-fect fit

Cats: Rulers of the World

“I wish I could write as mysterious as a cat” Edgar Allan Poe

Cats: Rulers of the World

They run your world
Despite whatever you heard
Twisting you around their tall tails
Urging you to run on nails
You will jump when they hail
“Yes Ma’am” you hear yourself say
When they approach you with a sway
And tell you it is time to play

Cats, are the rulers of the world
Sometimes you may hear yourself say “shit”
But you have to admit
You are loving every minute of it

Half of a Moon

Half of a Moon

The other half is hiding
Its time quietly biding
But,
After the sun has resided
It will be fully shining

Tulips

Tulips, gently swaying, in the warm spring sun
Their colour of the brightest red, indicating fun
Counting down from a multitude to one
Spring time is here: everyone has won!

Train Tracks

Clickety-clack
On the train tracks

The finger taps
Someone, playing the sax
The birds along side, their wings flap
A gentleman, trying to nap
This is no place to relax
Just join this rhythmic parallax
Enjoy the beat to the max
For on this trip, no one pays the tax

Piled Up

Piled Up

Piled up, for future consumption
Possibly, in a fiery combustion
Or at least, it was the assumption
The other option
To this odd concoction:
If you follow my suggestion
Maybe build a house instead?

Berries

Berries

Juicy and sweet
Its taste a treat
Mix it in a tea or soup
Maybe into your mouth just scoop
The seasonal red berries in the bush
Plenty of them, no need to push
Just make your pick
And soon enough, your fingers you’ll lick

Tree Tops

Where blue and green meet
In a rhythmic windy beat
Where spring’s growth is incomplete
And the weather still in a loss of heat

Just take a seat
Admire the treat
The dance of the trees
In this seasonal breeze
