Slow Boat

“Poetry is the art of creating imaginary gardens with real toads”
Marianne Moore

Slow Boat

Over the nightly waters
A few daring trotters
Have set sail to the land of promise
Looking for that ultimate bonus

A peaceful resting place
Where life still stays
Where nothing ever changes
Only surrounded, with familiar faces

The land of utopia
A proverbial cornucopia
The final destination
With one united nation

Horizon

Far away in the nightly horizon
Long before the moon’s arising
Where meeting, of the blue waters and skies
Here is, where the secret lies

Rose

Rose

Standing tall
Never fall
A single red rose
In a proud pose
Petals shiny and red
With a promise to never shed
Come shine or rain
The rose will stay
Proud, red and tall
And never, ever fall

Friends of Mine

“Walking with a friend in the dark is better than walking alone in the light”
Helen Keller

Friends of Mine

Please, be kind
Always, rewind
For these are all
Friends of mine

They were hard to find
Some, even declined
Some, were left behind
Some of them, combined

But when in a grind
I just had to remind
And here they all arrived
These, friends of mine

Elements and Symbols

Posted in Simply Poetry

“If, as a chemist, I see a flower, I know all that is involved in synthesizing a flower’s elements.
And I know that even the fact that it exists is not something that is natural. It is a miracle”
— Albert Hofmann

Elements and Symbols

Undiscovered
Laying dormant
Recovered
By an informant

The symbols drawn
Onto the unknown elements
Before the early dawn
Possibly as ornaments
Signs of prediction
Part, of some ancient superstition

Colourful
But fearful
These elements and symbols
Remaining a riddle
But nothing to belittle
Possibly the initials
Of gods from the past
Carved into stone
For ages to last

Space Oddity

“This is Major Pink,
Calling ground control, over”

“Ground control to Major Pink,
We hear you loud and clear”

“Uhm, I am in a wee bit of trouble here,
It seems, my pods won’t retract, over!”

Simply Pink

Yes, we are pink
Yes, we are in sync
Yes, we may stink
Yes, it’s the odour of pink

No, we are not a missing link
No, us, you can not drink
No, we are not an inc

So, just let this all, slowly sink

Rhythmic

Stacked, with a rhythm
By someone, with a vision
It seems, like repetition
But it is clearly, symbolism

Pink Rose 1

A rose, painted in pink
With a most delicate ink
And only for a moment, it will remain
But your heart, forever it will stain

Pink Rose 2

Faded colour
Faded odour
Reminiscent, of summer
For it too,
Will loose its colours
And turn to slumber
When Autumn falls
