Writing 101, Day Three: One-word inspiration

Prompts come in many different forms. Sometimes, a single word is all you need to get your mind’s wheels turning. Here are six words:

* HOPE
* REGRET
* HOME
* CHOICE
* ABUNDANCE
* SECRET

Select one word in this list that speaks to you in some way. Have you always wanted to write about that one decision that changed your life? Are you a long-term traveler looking for the right city to settle?

“Home sweet home”

Writing 101, Day Three: Home

Other places are the best
They let you forget all the rest
But when I am away
I know I shouldn’t stay
Something deep inside me
A small voice with a plea
A soft whisper only for myself
Telling it is time for a farewell
Leaving the new place I must
Before the settling of the dust
Because

“There really is no place like home”

Word Wide Wednesday Presents, Porvoo, Finland, Part One

The old town of Porvoo
A home away from home
Flew there like a crow
Stated ,when in Rome…
Found the nearest cafe
Which was close to the bay
Enjoyed the sunny day
Until turn of eve
When it was time to leave

Camera Lucida: Reflections

Poetry and Photography
Posted in week #13 of Camera Lucida Photo Challenge, Reflections

“It’s always interesting to look at reflections…are they really the same as the reality?
How many times did you look at your own reflection and wondered if that’s how the world sees you…?”

3

“The world is a looking glass and gives back to every man the reflection of his own face”
William Makepeace Thackeray

Camera Lucida: Reflections

Glass, wood, concrete
How this scene to complete?
Add a dash of colour
Maybe a selfie to follow?

Through the looking glass
Time slowly will pass
The observer’s delight
Is the turning of the light

Scenery, water, skies
Even a high rise
At this altitude
The surprise is an absolute

Sunset in November (SL WEEK 18)

Photo Challenge by SYLVAIN LANDRY and in honour of the month of November
A response to Sylvain’s challenge theme of Sunset

sunset-1

“Sunsets, like childhood, are viewed with wonder not just because they are beautiful but because they are fleeting.” Richard Paul Evans

Sunset in November

The start of November
Surely, it will be a month to remember
Sunsets most gorgeous
Twice now in as many days

Sky painted in various colours
Shape shifting clouds in abundance
Admiring the beauty of nature’s wonders
For a while only, but what seems like hours

THE DAILY POST; TREAT

The Daily Post photo challenge: Treat

“Absolutely eat dessert first. The thing that you want to do the most, do that”
Joss Whedon

THE DAILY POST; TREAT

Middle of the day, a lunch date, a little treat
Nothing fancy, it seemed, at first glance
Pancakes, strawberries and whipped cream
But soon enough, the treat made me dance

Lunch Time; Mundane Monday Challenge #31

Poetry and Photography
Photo challenge for PhoTrabloggers Mundane Monday

“This is a challenge created to find beauty in almost everything. The challenge is simple : find beauty in everyday mundane things, capture the beauty and upload the photographs.”

MUNDANE MONDAY CHALLENGE #31

“The biggest thrill wasn’t in winning on Sunday but in meeting the payroll on Monday”
Art Rooney

Lunch Time; Mundane Monday Challenge #31

Lunch time, Office, Espoo, Finland, 2nd of November, 2015

A week full of labour
Still, bearing its fruits

Lunch in the coffee area
No time for feeling inferior

Chums and colleagues take a stance
Together we eat, be merry and laugh
Even time for a wee Monday dance
Of course,
The sweet dessert all the previous enhanced 😛

“Photography to me is catching a moment which is passing, and which is true”
Jacques-Henri Lartigue

Blue Moment

That moment at dawn
Has you quite drawn
The sky and nature
Of one blue creature
The coolest of blues
The nature in hue…

…A natural true blue

Photo101 Rehab, The Clinic: Week 43 Wrap Up

“Last year, after completing the Photo101 course, I opened the Photo Rehab Event in this blog, a ‘healing clinic’, for all of us who love photography (hobbyists, amateurs, pro-shooters and enthusiasts) who missed the course and daily interaction with other photobloggers.” Lucile De Godoy

Halloween Night on the Bench

“I must go in. The fog is rising” EMILY ELIZABETH DICKINSON

Halloween Night on the Bench

Surrounded by misty air
Missed the last fare
Sitting on the park bench
Wishing I had worn a trench
The eerie surroundings
Leaving my heart pounding
Not a soul in sight
On this mystical night
Wrapping my coat tighter
My mood getting lighter
I hear some noises
A car approaches
Finally, I have a ride!
