it’s a seat”

Old Town Seats

The history
Of this city
In one glance
Fall into a trance

Silver Lining

Posted in Daily Photo

Look deep into nature,
and then you will understand everything better”
Albert Einstein

Silver Lining

They say
“Every cloud
Has a silver lining”

Looking up to the sky
What do I find?
Fluffy white clouds
With fluffy white lines

Purple Lines

Look deep into nature,
and then you will understand everything better”
Albert Einstein

Purple Lines

Purple and wavy
Nothing too racy
Surely not a daisy
Just another pretty flower

Planetary Object (two)

“All those nights with the phone warming the side of my face like the sun.”
― Warsan Shire

Planetary Object

The object kept on shining
Around and around spinning
Before too long all of us came out from hiding
Hoping, this really was, the promised new beginning

Planetary Object (one)

“All those nights with the phone warming the side of my face like the sun.”
― Warsan Shire

Planetary Object

An imaginary object
Appeared to the skies
It was as high
As the crow flies
It was shining so brightly
There was no where to hide
All eyes open and wide
Staring, wondering
Some of us pondering
Was this the start of spring

Snow Day in March (one)

“Sunday is the golden clasp
that binds together the volume of the week.”
― Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

Snow Day in March

It was supposed to be a sunny day in spring
But as the clock struck with a loud ding
The snowflakes started to sing

Down, down it poured
The drains started to roar
My eyes started to sore
Was it tears or the snow fall?
Oh, March, why art thou such a bore!

“Sunday is the golden clasp
that binds together the volume of the week.”
― Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

Snow Day in March

Flakey snowflakes,
The earth did shake
But oh, what total fakes
When onto the ground they lay
For a while did they stay
But much to someone’s dismay
The flakey flakes
Slowly faded away

Daylight Savings

Posted in Simply Poetry

“I don’t mind going back to daylight saving time.
With inflation, the hour will be the only thing I’ve saved all year”
Victor Borge

Daylight Savings

Lost an hour
Feeling sour
Without power
Like a flower
Without petals
A tangy metal
Taste in my mouth
Things going south
All because of daylight savings
There are no other cravings
Than sleep one more hour

Reflections, One

Posted in Throwback Thursday: Treasures from the archives

“Christmas is a season not only of rejoicing but of reflection”
Winston Churchill

Reflections

Reflections on the walls
Reflections on the windows
The sunsets and sunrises
Reflected on each surface

Magic

Posted in Throwback Thursday: Treasures from the archives

“A dream doesn’t become reality through magic;
it takes sweat, determination and hard work”
Colin Powell

Magic

Like a flick
Of the light switch
Like scratching
A really bad itch
I had started writing
Once more
Just like that
Just like magic
I found my muse
And I did it
