“Labels are for cans, not people” Anthony Rap

The Label Maker

Hey you with your label maker!
You like tagging people don’t ya, you faker!
You went right by me and took one look
Stuck this sticker on my forehead without a single hook
I am having a hard time getting it off
Did you think it would make a great perma-label on this spot?

But guess what, you nut
I washed my face with potent soap in a rut
With a huff and a puff
My forehead finally crystal clear and clean again
Luckily without the use of acid rain
And nothing of it sticking to my brain

No amount of glue
Will keep the sticker on my face
Your plan went sadly askew
Or were you just in the wrong place
Memorize this lesson
Into your big fat head
Go find some cans for making the impression
And label some of them instead

Wednesday, 18th of November, Part Two

Today, Wednesday

Really early morning
I woke up
Showered
Looked out the window
It was getting lighter
Sunrise!
Snapped a few pics

Drove to the office
The sunrise in full
Hurried to the pier
Snapped a few pics

Worked, worked, worked
Had a lunch break
In the late afternoon
Had great food
Snapped a few pics

Worked some more
Had a coffee break
And had a…
Few more cups of coffee
Snapped a few pics
Of the coffee that is

Working day ended
It was really dark outside
The decor was nicely lit
Snapped a few pics

Drove back home
Posted some blogs
Went to sleep
Dreaming of tomorrow

It will be Thursday…

Tricolour

Photo Challenge by SYLVAIN LANDRY

A response to Sylvain’s challenge theme of “Bleu Blanc Rouge“
SL-WEEK 20: Bleu Blanc Rouge

In honour of the brave French people and to their courage to keep on living

Tricolour

“Don’t pray for Paris, Be Free !”

Tricolour

Bleu Blanc Rouge
No time to sing the blues
It is the time to choose
Freedom

Blue, White, Red
The colours for which
So many have bled
Freedom

The three coloured symbol
In its presence we feel humble
Even though very simple
We can only think of
Freedom

Today, Tuesday

Really early morning

Showered
Today, home office day
Looked out the window
It was pouring and dark
Snapped a few pics

Worked some more
Had a snack break
It was still raining
Snapped a few pics

Worked some more
Had a coffee break
The weather cleared
Snapped a few pics

Working day ended
Drove to water aerobics
The sun was setting
Painting the sky red
Odd, it would show up
A little before disappearing

A Wanna-be Drag Queen (Repost)

“I Look Fuckin’ Cool” – Adore Delano & Alaska Thunderfuck

A Wanna-be Drag Queen

There is just something
to be said
About a man
in a dress
Not one hair
in a mess
Everyone staring
at big earrings

A Sculpted body
and lean legs
The woman embodies
A honey trap?
but into the spiders webs

Sickening
Gorgeous
Bickering
Flawless
Fabulous
Marvelous

Out of this world
Down the runway they swirled
Looking fucking cool
All we do is drool

You better work
With your lips in a smirk
It’s just a quirk
Don’t let it irk

I may be a woman
Must come clean
Maybe an omen
But I’m a wanna-be drag queen

“It’s not personal, It’s just drag” – Alyssa Edwards

There is always time for Coffee

Coffee, black!
That is a matter of fact
Enjoy it while hot
Right there on the spot
If you need cooling
With coffee there is no fooling
Try it as a frappé
Or even as a latte
Coffee never fails
Even when it ails

Writing 101, Day Eleven: Update your readers over a cup of coffee

Writing 101, Day Eleven: Update your readers over a cup of coffee

No matter what type of blog you have, it’s sometimes necessary to post updates: from project news to personal messages about what’s going on in your life. One creative approach to an update post is a “virtual coffee date,” as seen on Kate Goes Global, which is like catching up with an old friend over a cup of coffee.

In her post, Kate begins each paragraph with If we were having coffee right now… and then adds a detail. You can share any details you’d like and include as many as you want, as long as you begin each with If we were having coffee right now… (or a variation of this phrase, as seen on Girl with the Red Hair).

It’s a simple idea, but offers a bit more structure to your post — and is a lot more fun. So today, write an update post in the form of a virtual coffee date.

If this post isn’t fitting for your blog or not your style, here’s your alternative: use a coffee shop as your inspiration.

Set your poem or short story in a cafe:
Not a fan of coffee shops? Tell us about a place or type of setting where you like to meet and socialize with friends or loved ones.
Love or hate coffee? Tell us why.

Writing 101, Day Eleven: Update your readers over a cup of coffee

Monday, Paris
An outside Cafe
On Champs Elysées

Watching the passersby
With spirits held up high
No hurries, no sighs
Life still moving along
People carrying on
The worries almost gone

Enjoying my cup of coffee
This time I chose a latte
“When in France,
Do as the French do”
And a croissant with toffee
To complete the story

Just another day
On my stay
In the city of Paris
