“Once a year go somewhere you have never been before” Dalai Lama
World Wide Wednesday Presents: Helsinki City Centre in Black and White
Welcome to Hel-sinki!
Did you land here quite unexpectedly?
Please, have a look around
It’s more pleasant than it sounds
Nice, clean, safe and poetic
Our small town of the idyllic
We’re way up North
But well while the worth
Of making a short trip
Even with a tall ship
So stay a while, take a look around
You may be surprised of what you found
“Ah, September! You are the doorway to the season that awakens my soul… but I must confess that I love you only because you are a prelude to my beloved October.” Peggy Toney Horton
A September Day in Espoo, On the Street
Heading to the streets
Stumbling on my feet
But not to worry
I was in no hurry
Luckily someone
Had left the seat out
“Ah, September! You are the doorway to the season that awakens my soul… but I must confess that I love you only because you are a prelude to my beloved October.” Peggy Toney Horton
A September Day in Espoo, Home Base
Hopeful of a little sunshine
Trying to unwind
Small steps here and there
Enjoying the cool air
Still a little shaky
But no more breaky
The shutter clicking
Nature truly ass-kicking
Every minute an adventure
Bring it on September!
An homage to Nichelle Nichols, soon to be orbiting around Earth
“All the people in Star Trek will always be known as those characters. And what characters to have attached to your name in life! The show is such a phenomenon all over the world” NICHELLE NICHOLS
Homage to Nichelle Nichols
From science fiction
To science fact
From Lady Actress
To Lady Astronaut
A many of myths
You have broken
A multitude of gifts
And truly outspoken
An eternal beauty
With a sense of duty
A voice like an angel
With an attitude of the devil 😉
Uhura, Nichelle
We’re so very glad
Onto our screens you fell
Without you we’d be sad
Be careful out there
In the stratosphere!
“Pink is not just a colour, it is an attitude”
Bottled, Free, Pink
Even if I am bottled
I still feel free
Because I am pretty
Pretty in Pink

“I actually had to use Industrial Light & Magic to remove lens flare in a couple of shots, which is, I know, moronic. But I think admitting you’re an addict is the first step towards recovery” J.J. Abrams
SL-Week: Flare
Looking up into the skies
Narrowing my eyes
From the blinding glare
The sun’s bright flare
The warmth on my skin
And the feeling within
Nature’s awesome beauty
Makes me wanna boogie-woogie
Homage to Walter Koenig: Happy Birthday!
“I’m always looking for a low-budget script with an interesting character to play” Walter Koenig
Homage to Walter Koenig, Live Long and Prosper!
“It was invented by a little old lady from Leningrad”
“We are looking for the Nuclear Wessels in Alameda”
Actor, writer
Director, teacher
Chekov on Star Trek
Who could forget
That boyish charm
And an accent of Russian
Done with such passion
Taking us by storm
Bester on Babylon 5
A character done with style
Telepath and an antagonist
Quite the opportunist
Stirring up the soup
Better watch out for a coup
Whether on film or stage
Even fan productions made
You always deliver
Like a true winner
Leaving us in awe
And wanting for more
Photography and Poetry, Photo Challenge, Camera Lucida, Week 10
“Man needs colour to live; it’s just as necessary an element as fire and water” Fernand Leger
Camera Lucida: The Colour of Life
Pink makes you happy
And certainly more chatty
Some say you are batty
And even slightly tacky
But they might just be crabby
Because they do not wear pink
“Autumn is a second spring when every leaf is a flower” Albert Camus
Autumn Time
The daylight is getting shorter
The darkness is getting longer
The skies are turning into gray
But, nature has a funny way
To cheer us up when we are down
Turn our lips into an upside frown
The colours revealed in abundance
Soon will turn the reluctance
Into joy and wonderment
Stop for this moment
And leave us in an awe
An homage to Home
“That’s my spot” Sheldon Cooper
My Spot
I love to travel
I like to work
I am a social kind of extrovert
Life will take me to many places
Different people different spaces
But in the end what matters the most
Is always returning to my favourite post
My Spot
Right, where I left it
