Invincible

The name suggested
A battle maiden invested
Always the strong one
Getting everything done
Relying on strength
Taking great lengths
Never cheating
Always completing

Out of the blue
Without a clue
When least expected
The unthinkable was inflicted
The temple of strength failed
And came tumbling down
Feeling jailed
Oh treacherous one

Completely helpless
Not the fearless
Never been so afraid
Beginning to fade
Sometimes going insane
From all that pain

Going through stages
In quite the rages
Denial, anger, bargain, depression
With each session
Looking for that quick fix
Throwing in the mix
Ideas of the radical
Forgoing the medical
With a scoff
Thinking on just walking it off

Final stage at hand
Taking the stand
Waving the white flag
No more snags
Feeling revived
Acceptance had arrived

For the next few days
Relying on others’ aid
Hoping not to faint
Ain’t that quaint
But I am hardly a saint

Almost felt jinxed
But now my six
Is getting fixed
Add into the mix
Out of order

For a few days at least

Face in full leering
Feelings of winning
Life gave you lemons
Or battling with demons
Trying not to worry
Or even feel sorry
For things that cannot change
Rather arrange
Time for a full belly laugh
Several times a day
It isn’t daft
Keeps your mind clear
Throughout the year
When you wake up
Forget the wile
Put on that smile
It is the best make up
Everyone can wear
Which will not tear
Come rain or shine

Feels like only yesterday
We started on our holiday
Alas a week has passed
The time went really fast
We’re off to pack our bags
Oh what an eternal drag
On our way to the aeroport
Wishing the lines to be short

Soon enough
Taking off

Upwards to the blue skies
Above the clouds miles high
After a few hours spent
Homeland visible ahead
Preparing for the ascent
As easily done as said
Formalities and baggage claim
For final destination aim

Grabbing a taxi
Finally relaxing
A long day of travel
The throat like gravel
Not long now
Finally homeward bound

Travel is a lot of fun
Basking forever in the sun
But, after all is said and done
Home
Is still sweet home!
