Mother of the Day

“God could not be everywhere,
and therefore he made mothers”
Rudyard Kipling

Mother of the Day

A Mother is pretty
A Mother is witty
A Mother is sometimes shitty

A Mother is all knowing
A Mother is easy going
A Mother is exploding

A Mother is loving
A Mother is giving
A Mother is bluffing

A Mother is organized
A Mother is stylized
A Mother is sometimes unwise

A Mother is, simply my Mother

Time

Posted in Simply Poetry

“Better three hours too soon
than a minute too late”
William Shakespeare

Time

Tick-tock, tick-tock
Said the clock
As time was running out

Running, running,
Never, ever stopping
Have to finish… one more job

Tick-tock, tick-tock
Said the clock
As time was running out

Faking, taking
Sometimes forsaking
Just to get on top

Tick-tock, tick-tock
Said the clock
As time was running out

Sooner, than later
Realized the inside hesitater
Something had to be swapped

Tick-tock, tick-tock
Said the clock
As time was running out

Oh, never mind
Just rewind
Now, more than ever,
It is time to unwind!

“Cats are like music:
It is foolish to try to explain their worth
to those who do not appreciate them”

The Girl and The Cat

If you want to bet
The only comment you get
“What the heck,
Are you staring at!”

“Cats are like music:
It is foolish to try to explain their worth
to those who do not appreciate them”

The Girl and The Cat

No time to chase a rat
No time for a little chat
Not even an eyelid will bat

No time for the internet
Nothing playing on the cassette
Nothing moves, on the chess set

Would you look at that!
The girl with the cat
On the sofa, laying flat

“Danger Will Robinson, Danger!”
Lost in Space

Danger, Danger!

A pot hole loosely covered
With a traffic cone coloured
Watch your step
Steer to the left
And unscathed from danger
You have adventured

Danger, Danger!

Danger and entertainment
Brought for your amazement
Beware of yellow triangles
Or watch, when cyclists entangle
You might get this angle
If you stand here waiting in patience

Danger, Danger!

A singing bee
Hovering, in the flower tree
If closer you’ll adventure
Then in danger you’ll be

Danger, Danger!

You may soon be out finding
This crossing may be full of danger
As two bicyclists are gliding
And into one another colliding

Or then again,
You may also find this entertaining
Watching the bikes
Into each other strike

Danger, Danger!

A rickety dive board
Left unintended without a guard
Just be safe and smart
Try not off it into the deep waters dart
