Around the World in Photographs: London in Black and White

Over the rooftops
To the hustle and bustle
Of the streets of London
In just a few hops
A few old castles
And a famous dungeon
Hop on a bus
Without much fuss
Follow the lines
And you’ll be fine
Eyes wide open
Seeing more than hoping
In the evening
You are dreaming
Of how much more
The next day has in store

“Raindrops keep falling on my head…”

Raindrops on the Window (Mundane Monday 2016-02-22) Three

Rain pouring down the window frame
Feeling tired and totally lame
Staring into the stream of transparent liquid
My mind drifting and slumber comes quickly
In my dreams I start to wander
Into a place full of wonder
Where the sun is always shining
and nothing and no one is never minding
The tall tales of winter
Now left far behind me

“Raindrops keep falling on my head…”

Raindrops on the Window (Mundane Monday 2016-02-22) Two

Safely stalking behind the curtains
As a lonesome soul outside is lurking
Catching a glimpse of the dark frame
Before into the blurred raindrops it will fade

“Raindrops keep falling on my head…”

Raindrops on the Window (Mundane Monday 2016-02-22) One

Grey, greyest, black
Raindrops falling on my back
The winter month giving no slack
Snow, hail and rain, all neatly stacked
Like a conspiracy by the gods of weather
Nothing to do but to find some shelter

“When it rains, it pours”

Rainy Suburbia (Daily Photo)

“Welcome to sunny suburbia!”
They said

“Stay a while, take a load off”
They said

“It’s pretty and white, the sun shining so bright!”
They said

“Bah Humbug!”
I said

Sounded more, like a tall tale
Or urban a legend, set to fail!

As the rain came pouring down
And not a single dry spot could be found
I felt like the sideshow clown
On my face, an permanent painted frown

“Oh, well, when in Rome…”
I thought

Sitting in my recliner
Cozy, lazy and bundled up
Sipping on my warm cider
I held up my cup
Saluted towards the window
For all the daring weirdos
Coming out from their hides
And venturing to cold outside

And I said:
“Cheers!”

“Who am I that I have to sing under an umbrella? These people are my fans, and if they can stand in the rain to hear me sing, I can stand in the rain” Bobby Darin

Umbrella (Daily Photo 2016-02-08)

Step under my umbrella
We can sing in a cappella
Like we were the Ella
Just out of hella
Lady or a fella

Let’s create a novella
You can play the Stella
Prance around like a gazella
Maybe invite the Cinderella
Even if she is vanilla

There is no dilemma
Here what I tell ‘Ya
It’s quite the Rockwell’a
So step under my umbrella
Just out of the hella

Around and around we go
Where we end up no one knows
On the buses it is fun to ride
Even if on the wrong road side

World Wide Wednesday Presents: London, Part One

Rain, rain, rain
Running down the drain
Around in the City of London
Without the feeling of boredom
Too many things to see
Face lit up with a glee
Never mind the sad bad weather
My skin is made of thick leather
A few raindrops do not harm
Even a little storm
Won’t keep me away
From the London sway
