Sunsets of January

On this date
An odd effect
Took place
In the midst
Of a snow storm
It wasn’t even warm
And this surely
Not the norm

Sunsets of January

The sky, bursting into flame
Like some high resolution game
The little snowflakes
Sprinkled down, like confetti
Oh, how it looked so pretty!

Sunsets of January

Now,
Much later
Inside I gaze
Into the final rays
Before the shades
Are closed
The day has ended
The snow and sun
Now blended
An odd day
For January

Sunsets of January

Oh, happy January
Now we all can be merry
We are reassured
There will be light
You gave us your word
When showing the sunlight
Thanks January
Now we don’t have to worry
Or live in fear
Of the rest of the year

Sunsets of January

Sunsets are boring
Some might say, and end up snoring
But who can resist
The sky’s endless twists
Painting the clouds yellow, orange and red
Weaving a colourful web

Tuesday Sunset

sunset-1

…In a few flashing moments
Before we articulated any comments
It was gone
Possibly a drone
Someone said over the phone
Some other suspected
It was something called “The Sun”
Oh what fun!

Tuesday Sunset

Close to the end of the year
You won’t believe what you hear
There was an unidentified object
Right there for us mere humans to detect
It came out of nowhere
Did not stay for long here…

One Day in December

The sun is quickly fading, into the horizon
The sky turning grey, all colours soon to fade

The fire brightly burning, one flame slowly churning
The sun almost gone, merging, into the dark horizon

The setting sun, painted the sky in colours
Red, yellow, blue, even with a darker hue
