The days are getting shorter
Reflections on the water
The last of the reminders
Of the times much kinder

The games of summer played
The tanned skin to rest laid
Tall shadows now displayed
Soon enough will fade

Because,
When in October
The cold shoulder
Of winter
Soon will reenter

Monday Morning Sunrise

Poetry and Photography
Posted in response to The Clinic-Photo Rehab hosted by Lucile De Godoy

“There’s a sunrise and a sunset every single day, and they’re absolutely free. Don’t miss so many of them.” Jo Walton

Monday Morning Sunrise

Standing there, stunned
As the early morning sun
Making quite the display
When, lighting up the skies
In its unique and fiery way

But oh, how time flies
Still, wishing to remain
For a little while at least
But, unfortunately, duty calls
Oh, that necessary beast

Slowly making my way
To another mundane Monday
Secretly hoping of tomorrow
For another piece of beauty
To let me borrow

Just another Tuesday

“I don’t want it good. I want it Tuesday” Jack Warner

Just another Tuesday

Early wake up call
Sets the rolling of the ball
Day is about to begin
Also for this Finn
Driving into traffic
Nothing too terrific
Reaching the office
Exchanging a little gossip
And having a mild smirk
Before diving into work

When the lunch bell tolls
It is time to haul
That rigid body for a break
And knock out the aches
Leave that work console
Go on a little stroll
Down by the pier
The sunlight revere
Survey your surroundings
Before returning to the boundaries
Of the office

Mundane Monday

Poetry and Photography
Photo challenge for PhoTrabloggers Mundane Monday

“Monday is great if I can spend it in bed. I’m a man of simple pleasures, really” Arthur Darvill

Mundane Monday

Just another Manic Monday
Certainly not my fun day
Back in the office again
Simply cannot explain
It just happens
Always after weekend
Leaving me baffled
I cannot help myself
And leaves me overwhelmed
I just end up here
In this stratosphere
Called work

Sunny Days in October Part One

Rain, rain, rain
And some more rain
But, wait… what?
Today, no rain?

Surprisingly sunny
To the point of funny
The air soft and warm
I could have sworn
It was late summer
But oh bummer

I wasn’t grinning
Because,
It was the beginning
Of October

Reflections

Poetry and Photography

“No art is less spontaneous than mine. What I do is the result of reflection and the study of the great masters” Edgar Degas

Reflections

Reflections on the glass
May be too hard to pass
Imagination running rampant
Trying to catch a fragment
Of the alternate universe
A life on the reverse
A mirror image
A line of scrimmage
Aren’t you too curious
Of what ever glorious
Adventures lie ahead

Through the Looking Glass

Photo101: Day Seventeen: Glass, Squared

“Curiouser and curiouser” Lewis Carroll

Through the Looking Glass

Through the looking glass
Life will quickly pass
Surfaces reflecting light
What a visual display in sight
A glimpse of an image
Transparent as the line of scrimmage
Moving fast and fading away
Only within imagination to stay
