“Step right up! But, perhaps take caution, before diving right in, as it’s late in the year and the waters just might be frozen!” Gun Roswell
When standing on the edge I made this solemn pledge To dive in Even if, There would be ice thin Luckily, This September weather Is a reminiscent of a soft feather More so, Than a rainy autumn Boy, Must the Forecast Gods feel dumb!
“Surprise! There is sunshine in September too, way up North, alas, sometimes, it takes a while for it to rise” Gun Roswell
In a hurry, just, like always, so also, this morning Trying to beat the traffic and get to the seaside before the dawning To watch, experience and really enjoy, a spectacle, specially arranged by mother nature But I am so worried, I will be belated Alas, as I suspected, the time is not, on my side As I am trying, towards the goal, as fast as possible, to drive But, since the other drivers, seem to have, the exact same agenda I worry, that all this hurry, is only going to leave me in one big surrender And soon enough, my fears are materialized, as all the cars, come, to a full stop As if by some great plan, they all halt, right there on the dot Is it a red light or some other type of strife, I wonder just then Swearing, cussing, under my breath, hoping, wishing, not too much time to spend In this state of suspension, my face, in a constant animation Feelings rising, emotions getting spicy And then, just as all hope had been cast out the window The line of vehicles gradually start to move From the rear view window, I can see the water flow Closer, and closer I slowly like a snail approach The sun, rising, the reddish glow, reminiscent of a torch As I am finally reaching the spot, I quickly find the parking lot Rushing out of the car, I am running, even if it’s not so far The pier, where all the viewers are now In awe, admiring the reflected glow Of the sun rising in this Autumn morning Could not have asked for a better view for this dawning
“Ships passing in the distance, the weather grey and dull, as is the sea, no complaints though, sitting here observing life passing by, and waiting for the sun to shine” Gun Roswell
I still remember That one September The bluest of skies And it was warmer than July The water clear and inviting The air soft and delighting Not a worry in sight Everything quite right In the distance For an instance A boat or two Disappearing from the view Most tourists already gone Leaving us alone Enjoying in peace With a short lease The last rays of summer
“The sun is shining, on the other side, over there, across the sea, somewhere else but definitely not here“ Gun Roswell
There is sunshine, on the other side, the proof delivered by a witness, who dared to peek through the curtain, and then, after seeing the miracle, snapped the picture, as proof!
As of now, the summer is officially over, as September has just reared is ugly head and instead of getting a cooling down situation outside, the plummet in daily temperatures, not to mention all the down pour, has definitely not left any of us scored.
So, even after complaining about the whole too warm summer time, having lasted for such a short while, the winter season is upon, the sunshine, the warmth the greens, all but gone.
Luckily though, in the dreams and pictures, some of it can be relived, when huddling down frozen cold because of as was foretold, it is the season of rain and behold, soon enough – snow!
“The yacht or big big ship, whatever the name for it, it’ll fare you across the huge waters!” Gun Roswell
Boats and ships Fully equipped For a trip Filled with fun Under the sun Or just a weekend layover In some other land Somewhere close Back by Monday If you can
“Going fishing today, after all, it’s a free day, or Friday, what ever you want to call it, I am outta here!” Gun Roswell
Today is the day, when I am getting myself a life, living that is, instead of existing, or at least, that is the grand plan! To be honest, this has been the plan for the past year or so, to get out my fishing gear and simply, just go, to get out there, and have some fun. Granted, fishing might not be a top choice, or even a good choice, but it would be the once for me today, as it was the last of the working days and I needed to get out of the house. And, as there was a nearby fishing village, with small boats to rend kind of cheep-ish, I knew what I was going to do on my one day off. Getting my gear together, I was soon out the door, and even if there was not going to be a big fishy score, the point was to just get out there to the shore, hop inside a dingy, and row, row, row out there, spending a day without care.
So, after a short peddle on my bike, towards the harbour now in sight, I stepped off and went to the shore, to get me some lures, the wormy kind at that, as I wanted to go all retro to the bat. Next step, was to get some snacks, as no day would be perfect without the editable as I wasn’t counting on the fish to bite. Besides, I could not very well eat them raw, sushi never being a favourite so what ever catch would have to be properly prepared, stirred, fried and what ever it took. Next step was then to rent the vessel, a small one with a miniature motor, and good looking oars, as today, was all about them chores. After the deal, was sealed, I was finally able to set sail, or rather take the paddles to my hands, and start my venture off land. What better way, to spend a free Friday!
Spending all day long, on the lulling waves just outside the shore, not daring to be too adventurous, after all, the tiny ship was hardly able to compete with the ships tall. And when the sun started setting, I was off the hooks getting, with a few fish as a reward, most likely a dinner for tomorrow. It was time to head back home, this time using the motor as my arms were sore, all day long spent fishing, so guess that was to be expected, which was fine, I dejected as they would be worse tomorrow, after so much exercise, but hey, I wanted to live the life, so here I was, a fishing person, heading to shore after a long day spent on the waters edge, but hey, I had scored, fish being my reward of the day!
“Just two ships passing each other by, in the very ocean wide” Gun Roswell
It was a calm and hazy early morning, as the two ships emerged without a warning, passing each other close by, as it was planned, but only on the fly. Sailing in from the opposite direction of one and other, only meeting in the middle of the inter section, they hardly had time to meet or even give a proper greet. As simply floating by the other, never touching, only glancing once, maybe twice. But there really was no time to say anything else let alone something nice to the other, as the flow kept on going and there really was no stopping it. A well known fact for both, as they knew that despite their slow motion, it was inevitable for the two of them to meet. But, there was nothing more of an option for them, except this on fleeting moment in time, seeing each other for the first and also last time, as the two slow boats, were just passing each other by, and maybe that was enough, and both of them could be just fine after the chance encounter, perhaps by design.
“The bluer is the water, the better is the view, at least from the small sailing ship, making its way across the cool and calming hues“ Gun Roswell
The bluest blue hue of all the blues, shining across the high seas, beckoning for the weary soul, to find their way towards those very inviting waves.
As the hard life on the land is quite hard at least, that is where the blame is laid and so, taking off, the ground so very rough, fleeing to the seas, getting away, way out there where the eyes even can’t see.
