Row, Row, Row Your Boat

“Row, row, row your boat,
Gently down the stream.
Merrily, merrily, merrily, merrily,
Life is but a dream.”
-Traditional song

Row, Row, Row Your Boat

Row your boat
Round the moat
Let it gently float
But watch out
For the big goat!

Textures for Mundane Monday

“I now find magic in the mundane.
I’m also more creative –
better able to look beyond the obvious and
come up with new story angles.”

Textures in white and grey
Made of stone, so not to fade
Others only a while stay
Before slowly melting away

Tracks left behind
Possibly, by the human kind
If the owner you try to find
Then be prepared for quite the ride!

“A throne is only a bench covered with velvet”
Napoleon Bonaparte

Concrete Bench

Even a bench
Made out of concrete
Will still help you
Get off of your feet!

Even,
A hard bench
Will do,
In a tight clench

The Dame and the White Cat for Caturday

Posted in Caturday: Tale, Mystery and Humour

“When all candles be out, all cats be grey” John Heywood

The Dame and the White Cat for Caturday

The dame with her white cat
Stepped in for a quick chat
Sat down and whisked off her hat
Ordered a coffee with milk non-fat

“Good evening dearie”

She said leering

“Nice weather we are having this evening”

That was all she said
Her conversation dropping dead
Just quietly sipping the beverage
As if looking for a leverage

I stood there staring
The silence more than unbearing
Wondering ‘what or who was this stranger
Were we all in danger?’

As if reading my mind
The lady put down the cup
And finally looked up
And with smile made of kind

She stated matter of factually

“I need more cats!”

As ipso facto, this was actually
A store, where one could purchase such things

Totally Freaky Friday

1

Freaked up in the early morning hours
When the Dark Nordic Showers
Started banging against the roof plates
Silently, cursing my non sleepy state
Must this really be my fate?!
Oh, how I love to hate
Living up here in the Nordic States

“It’s a lottery win to be born here”
They say

But little do they sway
When the weather causes dismay

“They who?”
You may ask

“Better don’t”
Will always be my response

They are the ones watching, listening, telling you
What you should do
They may be just a few
But mess with them, and you are screwed!

Copper Moon (TBT)

Posted in the Throwback Thursday

“And Fall, with her yeller harvest moon and the hills growin’ brown and golden under a sinkin’ sun” Roy Bean

Copper Moon

The copper shaded moon
Has reached its full bloom
Rusty and round
Lighting
The night ground
If you were looking for treasure
To be a person of leisure
Then this is
The wrong rainbow!

“Aim for the moon. If you miss, you may hit a star”
W. Clement Stone

Half-Moon and Red Sky

Lurking
Behind the red clouds

When you ask
“I am just working”
The moon man says smirking

And shines on
For yet another night
