Snow Mummies (TBT)

“A lot of people like snow. I find it to be an unnecessary freezing of water.”
Carl Reiner

Snow Mummies

Uncovered from the snow
In the dark night they glow
Small black stones for eyes
Only afraid of the sunrise
Melting their worst enemy
Cold weather the only remedy
Sitting pretty for now
Until the earth they will bow

Down the Hill

downhill-6     downhill-7     downhill-8

When ever there is snow on the ground
And a small mountain or a molehill found
The kids will arrive in flocks
Dragging their sleighs to the top
“Mommy, mommy, look at me!
Look how fast I am going!
Oops, look, there’s a tree!”

<Crash, bang, boing>

“Mommy, mommy, look no teeth!”
The kid only laughingly stated
As back up hill he ventured
If only to once more ride
Before getting his dentures

What is in a name?
Does it come with fame?
If it doesn’t suite you, who’s to blame?
It’s all the same:
Just use what ever name they gave
And continue playing the game

Ochre on White

The snow came
What a pain
But for me, only a stain
I am persistent
Even magnificent
I may be dull and dreary
But this snow may fear me
So just hear me
Because I will be here
When the snow is gone!
