Winter Morning

Early winter morning
Early, before the dawning
Fresh tracks in the powdery snow
Carefully found before the wind blows

The snowflakes frozen
Glazed against the window
Ski tracks on the ground
But not a soul to be found

The crescent moon
Present before noon
But not far behind
The sun with its shine

Blue Moment, Daily Photo (2016-01-04)

Something old
Something new
Something stolen
Something blue
A moment in time
Forever frozen
Captured
By an image
In the mind’s eye
And possibly
Forever
In bits and bytes

“There’s something boring about people who have to go to an office for a living” Karl Lagerfeld

“In order of appearance”

In the early morning hours
From my mighty tower (yeah right!)
I looked outside from my window
I was lucky to stay indoors
Because, it was very dark despite
The glorious blanket of white
That had fallen down the day before
What a total score!
Someone else would say
It was actually a sarcastic “yay”
Which from my mouth out dropped
Before I had to stop
The sarcasm getting too darn…
Still, debating, whether outside to pop
Or stay inside by the warm
With my trusted coffee cup

Staring for a moment
Not wanting to get frozen
I still couldn’t tore away
Transfixed,
Almost jinxed
Standing there
Looking at the open lane
Nothing stirred,
Well maybe something
I noticed one thing
A neighbour outside then came
Starting a task
Possibly with a help from “the flask”
Scraping the car
Trying to rid off
All the ice and snow
Not getting too far
Because the sky was pouring
More of the white stuff

Still standing in my spot
Looking at the clock
Ticking away
Not wanting to get to the boring
Part of my day
You all know what I mean
But, no good comes from just a lean
Tearing away, to my trusted laptop
With almost a scoot and a hop
Started reading, typing,
Huffing and puffing (but of course)
Soon I was in a swing
Troubles and solutions
Solved with a swing

Before I realized
The night was upon us
Time to shut down
Let the evening gown
Dress me down
And a little later
That darn traitor
Sleep, get me
And to other worlds flee
For tomorrow
Back in to the flow
Of another working day
I needed to play

“The brain is a wonderful organ; it starts working the moment you get up in the morning and does not stop until you get into the office” Robert Frost

“In order of appearance”

No, this is not a weather report and certainly not Mundane Monday post (that I already did on Monday, so check it out too 😉 )

You can call this, “‘Till Wednesday”, if you like. There will be no glitter, no glamour, no sunsets nor sunrises (well, maybe, still a few).

Simply depicted in photographs, how yet another working week started, after the holiday season was over and it was time to return back to everyday life in suburbia and back to world of office, well, this week, home office.

Enjoy!

“I used to be Snow White, but I drifted” Mae West

Quote a Week Tuesday, 2015-12-15

Today’s quote is for something we all love, or as I do, love to hate, SNOW.

But seriously, snow is fun when you can travel to it and leave when you had enough, much like it is with my relatives. Snow is fun when you don’t have to shovel it, when it doesn’t cover your car in the morning and when it is not over a meter high. Snow is fun when it is a pictoresque view of which you can snap beautiful photographs and then leave for a warmer climate to publish them.

“A lot of people like snow. I find it to be an unnecessary freezing of water” Carl Reiner

Part Four: Winter

winter 1

“In the depth of winter I finally learned that there was in me an invincible summer” Albert Camus

Winter

Brightness surrounding
Snow’s blanket covers all
Feeling my heart pounding
Cannot help but feeling small
The world seemingly wider
Nothing, but snow as a divider
