“I see that it is by no means useless to travel,
if a man wants to see something new”
Jules Verne

On the River Negro

On a slow boat
Down the moat…

(The needle on the record hops with a screeching sound)
“Sorry, wrong track!”

On a slow little ship
Down the River Negro we slide
It’s just a short trip
Into the beyond and open wild

Fishes and dolphins
Jump up from the waters
The mermaids a calling
So lock up your fathers
No place for golfing
Only a trek for the trotters

On a slow little ship
Down the River Negro we slide
It’s just a short trip
Into the beyond and open wild

Close to Night Fall

8-a

When the night falls
And bedtime calls…

Wait, we’re on holiday
No one sleeps on a holiday
Just drinks some coffee
With a mint of or a toffee
Awake you will remain
Even if your brain
Will go a little cuckoo

Roof Top

Sitting on the roof top

Why?

Because it was time for a stop
Switch gears, and make a swap

Now

Laying around like a blob
Thinking(?)
I need to pick up that mop

Never mind
It’s just a job
I can easily do
Tomorrow

Biker Dude

Down the street
Engine setting the beat
No time to tweet
Not even, for any sweets
“Got some pals to meet
And,
Dry my soaking feet!”

Slow Boat down the River

On a slow boat
On this wide moat
Did bring a tote
Filled with some oat
To feed the goat…

“Wait a minute, wait a minute?
River, oat, goat?
What’s the catch in this?”

“Well, it’s for me to know
And you to find out!”

Enjoying the Solitude

A game of solitaire
In the fresh open air
Solitude and silence
This place, is priceless

In the rain forest of Brazil
You can feel the thrill
Sailing down the river Negro
Quite the incognito
A glimpse of the dolphins
Can raise the endorphins

Deck the Halls (traditional song)

Deck the halls with boughs of holly, Fa la la la la la la la!

‘Tis the season to be jolly, Fa la la la la la la la!
Don we now our gay apparel, Fa la la la la la la la!
Troll the ancient Yuletide carol, Fa la la la la la la la!

See the blazing yule before us, Fa la la la la la la la!
Strike the harp and join the chorus, Fa la la la la la la la!

Follow me in merry measure, Fa la la la la la la la!
While I tell of Yuletide treasure, Fa la la la la la la la!

Fast away the old year passes, Fa la la la la la la la!
Hail the new, ye lads and lasses, Fa la la la la la la la!
Sing we joyous all together! Fa la la la la la la la!
Heedless of the wind and weather, Fa la la la la la la la!

Whales Ahead

“Hop on
Hop off”
The seller scoffed
Waving us to board

Not knowing what was in store
Anticipation
Hesitation
Finally at sea
And nowhere to flee
The boat shook

“Oh, look!
Thar be whales here!”
