Elements and Symbols

Posted in Simply Poetry

“If, as a chemist, I see a flower, I know all that is involved in synthesizing a flower’s elements.
And I know that even the fact that it exists is not something that is natural. It is a miracle”
— Albert Hofmann

Elements and Symbols

Undiscovered
Laying dormant
Recovered
By an informant

The symbols drawn
Onto the unknown elements
Before the early dawn
Possibly as ornaments
Signs of prediction
Part, of some ancient superstition

Colourful
But fearful
These elements and symbols
Remaining a riddle
But nothing to belittle
Possibly the initials
Of gods from the past
Carved into stone
For ages to last

August Days in Espoo for Daily Photo

“August, the summer’s last messenger of misery, is a hollow actor” Henry Rollins

Rosehip

Lush and pink
Totally in sync
The little rose
In a pose
Hidden
In the green leaves
In August’s eve

Voice

“Can you hear my voice?”
It asked

“Listen to my voice”
It continued

“Walk towards my voice”
It beckoned

Finally, standing there in front of the wall, with a can of spray in my hand, I had made my statement

“I hear a voice”

Scary Door

Be on the look out
You never know where it lies
The way to…
… A scary door!

Ride a Bike

Ride a bike
Take a hike
Watch out for spikes
As your vehicle they can strike
Stay out of fights
Other wise
Do what you like
So go

Day Eight: “Treasure” — Zoom In

Objects, places, people, moments — we all cherish something or someone. Anything deeply meaningful to you can be a treasure. A treasure can be grand, like a precious heirloom, or teeny-tiny, like the first plump blackberry of spring atop a tart.

“There Be Treasure in Them Thar Caves!”

Treasure (WP Developing Your Eye I)

I have to save it
Before it vanishes
A temporary pleasure
Drawn on the curve side
The image printed to my mind
But quickly, an apparatus need I find
To save the memory in time
Before this treasure
Will be lost, forever

SL-WEEK 8 : On the Road

POETRY AND PHOTOGRAPHY

“People say graffiti is ugly, irresponsible and childish… but that’s only if it’s done properly” Banksy, Wall and Piece

SL-WEEK 8 : On the Road

“We here in France we have a habit of putting art everywhere…So this week show us the road art, urban art, art alibi!”

No use crying
Over spilled chalk
All over the side walk
It was worth trying
It may not be art
But, just as smart
Making people smile
As they walk on by
