The supermoon is a 16-inch pizza compared with a 15-inch pizza. It’s a slightly bigger moon; I ain’t using the adjective ‘supermoon.’ Neil deGrasse Tyson

Moon, Bloody Super Moon

Moon bloody Super Moon
Why can’t you get here soon

Instead, in the middle of the night
From my bed standing upright
Down the street I chased it
In a state of a hissy fit
And in my pajamas no less
Frightening the neighbours I confess

Staring up the starlit night
Only to find a disturbing sight
No moon of any colour could I find
I was pissed with my teeth in grind

The big white ball
I earlier in the sky saw
Had hidden behind
A thick cloud bind

So now, another thirty-three years to wait
For that bloody moon to bate
The other option of course
And without too much of remorse
Is…

The next time the full moon is around
Maybe just photoshop in the bloody crown

September in Suburbia, Part Six

Photography and Poetry

“School,
Effort, and
Play.
Trying your best
Each hour of the day,
Making new friends,
Being good as you can
Exciting discoveries,
Reading books with a friend.”

September in Suburbia, Part Five

Sunshine and soft rain
Raindrops falling on the lane
The nature lush and green
More alive than ever seen
The colours in full glow
Red, orange and yellow
Waiting for the rainbow
Soon enough to follow

September in Suburbia, Part Three

Roaming around the Hood
Because the weather was really good
Clouds floating in the blue sky
Wishing if only I could fly
The sun warm on my skin
Melting the coldest of Finns
Colours burning bright
Ideas taking flight
Snap, click, snap, click
Hoping to score some great pics
So here they are
I didn’t walk too far
But still got a great bunch
In a time it takes to have lunch

September in Suburbia, Part One

Sunshine, rain, a rainbow
Blue skies, dark skies, a rainbow
The weather in constant turmoil
Life in constant recoil
Colours on the leaves turning
From green to bright red flaring
Observing through the viewfinder
All of Mother Nature’s wonder

Autumn Leaves

“Autumn is a second spring when every leaf is a flower” Albert Camus

Autumn Leaves

Bright red, yellow and orange
Just like spring time in Florence
The Autumn leaves are morphing
Like the cooling stars dwarfing
The colours of the trees
As far as eyes can see
Gorgeous and beautiful
More plentiful, more wonderful
Than you could have bargained for
I can hardly wait what more
Autumn has in store

Camera Lucida: Autumn Lane

The view from my window
Almost like a suburban meadow
Nature growing wild and free
Only a glimpse of the road I see
The pathway to our house
Narrow and more fitting for a mouse
Black asphalt with a touch of green
Surrounded by colours more gorgeous
Than I ever seen
Mirror mirror on the wall
Which of the seasons
Is the prettiest of them all
Why Autumn of course
Such a nature’s force

September Contrasts

“Ah, September! You are the doorway to the season that awakens my soul… but I must confess that I love you only because you are a prelude to my beloved October.” Peggy Toney Horton

September Contrasts

The contrasts
Of light and shadow
On each surface cast
Like an arrow
Dividing colour
From the darkness
Still much to discover
In the emptiness
And the colourless
