Morning Light

“Catch the sunrise in the early morning hours” Gun Roswell

Morning Light

In the early morning hours
Waking up to the smell of flours
And after taking my shower
I head on to the harbour

It is still quite dark
As my bicycle I park
But after having thought smart
I got to a head start

While everyone else was sleeping
Of the sunlight powerful dreaming
I got to see the vision so extreme
Of the early morning light pristine

The sun slowly ascending
Behind the waters edge sending
Chills down my spine, as so splendid
The reflections of the rays trending

What a view for the day
I wish that I could longer stay
But as I slowly walk away
I feel the warmth and light on every sway

“So. Monday. We meet again. We will never be friends—but maybe we can move past our mutual enmity toward a more-positive partnership.” Julio Alexi Genao

Last Day of November

Last day of November
Wishing it was still September
Or at least a snowy day in December

Rain, rain, rain
Some more rain
Feelings of mundane
Starting to sink in
Dull, dark, dreary
Nature somewhat eerie
The sun coming out rarely
Hanging in there barely

Last ones of leaves
In the barest of trees
Holding on for dear life
Existence one big strife

Then, something unexpected
When you least expected
A beam of light reflected
On the dark surface

Could it be?
Is it possibly…
Sunlight?

“Delicious autumn! My very soul is wedded to it, and if I were a bird I would fly about the earth seeking the successive autumns” George Eliot

Leaves of November

The colours may be fading
The cold nights not aiding
The circle of life still a fact
Use camouflage to distract?

Winter knocking at the door
Trying hard to ignore
Yearn for life weighing more
Growing stronger than before

Photo 101: Day Ten: Mystery & Lighting Effects

Photo 101: Day Ten: Mystery & Lighting Effects

Today, share an image that creates a sense of mystery. A lone mitten on the sidewalk. A trail leading off into the distance. Your dog’s deep brown eyes. Intrigue us with uncertainty.

Today’s Tip: To stretch yourself, manipulate the light available to you to create a particular effect — use it to cast shadows and highlights to create a moody image. Work with natural light, or find an artificial light source like the stage lights above.
