“Going to hell, in a handbasket”
On a Slow Road to Hell
Loosing all sense of colour
No use in a loud holler
All shades of grey are fading
The perfect picture slowly degrading
Turning to black and white
Really, there was no fight
Life passing by in slow motion
Reminiscent of an old silent film
But with less commotion
Standing here
Where the line used to be
Then, drawn in sand
Facing what I feared
A wall of concrete
Now complete
Wondering,
Who’s got the upper hand
A note of some kind
Almost rendered me blind
In proud bold letters,
A big ass sign
“TRESPASSERS WILL BE SHOT!”

“Here in my car
I feel safest of all
I can lock all my doors
It’s the only way to live
In cars”
Gary Numan – Cars
Yellow Mini-marine
We all want to drive a yellow Mini-marine
A yellow Mini-marine, a yellow Mini-marine
Life is fun in a yellow Mini-marine
A yellow Mini-marine, a yellow Mini-marine
I also wanted one for me
A yellow Mini-marine, a yellow Mini-marine
But turned out there was a larger fee
For a yellow Mini-marine, a yellow Mini-marine
So instead I went out to ski
Instead of driving a yellow Mini-marine, a yellow Mini-marine

Just a Rent-A-Car
Just another rent-a-car
Down on the beat
I can drive you really far
Even in this damned heat
I may not be a smart-car
But I know every street
Just put down the cigar
Step inside and take a seat
I will take you on a tour
Ever so lovely and grandeur

“I hooked up my accelerator pedal in my car to my brake lights. I hit the gas, people behind me stop, and I’m gone” Steven Wright
Baby, I Can Drive My Car

Setting the scene
Pedal to the metal
Nerves unsettled
Giving it some gas
A little more for the blast
Overheating the machine
The engine is revving
Feels like heaven
Seeing is believing
The stress finally relieving
All the senses perceiving
No time to scoff
No time to fear
The moment is here
The road ahead, clear
Blast off!
Baby I can drive my car
Even though I’m not a star
Still I’m getting very far
Performance getting up to par
And maybe I love you babe

“The cars we drive say a lot about us” Alexandra Paul
Drive
They said I couldn’t
You said I shouldn’t
I thought I wouldn’t
But, now
Fading spots I see
In the rear view mirror
As my car and me
Down the road terror
Plough
Finally
Here I am
Where ever this is
Easily
I did drive
So do give me
A high five

Jealous of my Boogie
“Don’t be jealous of my boogie”
The older wise Mercedes said to the little new car
Who had turned red when trying with the old one to spar
And found out, it could not drive quite as far
After all, the vintage model was the star
