Graffiti Porvoo Style

Posted in Throwback Thursday: Treasures from the archives

“It’s Porvoo style – whoomph whoomph, whoomph, whoomph – Porvoo style!”

Graffiti Porvoo Style

I’m spraying my graffiti
Where ever it fits me
On the walls of suburbia
Bringing a sense of hysteria
There is no mystery
Of who I am
Just read my life’s history
Come and catch me if you can

Upside Down or Opposite Day

Posted in Throwback Thursday: Treasures from the archives

“This is not the rhyming song!”

Upside Down or Opposite Day

Chocolate as a dietary measure
Which can be the ultimate pleasure
To get the same effect
From this heavenly confect
You would by eating a carrot

Oh don’t listen to the parrot!

At least double the amount
No no you don’t have to count
Per each pleasurable bite
When enjoying this healthiest of delights

Chocolate is the answer
Never mind what the question was!

Freedom

Posted in Throwback Thursday: Treasures from the archives

“Life, Love, Liberty”

Freedom

Freedom is to be who you are without being ashamed
Freedom is to love someone without being blamed
Freedom is to walk home in the dark without being raped
Freedom is to say your thoughts out loud without being hated
Freedom is to choose whether you turn left or right
Freedom is to surrender without a fight

Freedom is,
To be who you are
Where you are
When you are
Let no one
Tell you differently

Camouflage

Posted in Throwback Thursday: Treasures from the archives

“I need camouflage
that works in such a way
that when I wear it,
you disappear.”
Jarod Kintz

Camouflage

I need a good disguise
I really need to hide
From the prying eyes
So very hard I tried
To fit in the system
Trying each position
But now the resistance
Almost my mission
Is to get away
To disappear
I know it’s a cliche
I am facing
The final frontier
My heart racing
I am finally fading
My shell visible
Slowly trading
Becoming invisible
My camouflage
Now complete

Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Sailor, and a Writer
Write More, Complain Less
Stuck Between a Poem and a Hard Place
I am Out of Order for Today

I am Out of Order for Today

Posted in Throwback Thursday: Treasures from the archives

“The elevator to success is out of order.
You’ll have to use the stairs… one step at a time.”
Joe Girard

I am Out of Order for Today

Call it
A writer’s block
Or a total lock
My mind just
Put up the sign

“Empty room
For hire”

I will not pine
Somewhere
The fire
Can be found
Lifting me
Off the ground

To unblock
I will catch
The hook
To unlock
My writer’s mind

Stuck Between a Poem and a Hard Place

“Breathe-in experience,
breathe-out poetry”
Muriel Rukeyser

Stuck Between a Poem and a Hard Place

I am a poet
But did not know it
Now I am writing
Lyrics without biting
The bullets
My mind to the fullest
Hammering the keyboard
Not a big chore
No, not anymore

Ever since I started
I cannot be parted
From the blank page
That clean slate
Words pouring
My heart roaring
I feel elevated
Totally animated
Full of excitement

I am completely and utterly
Lost in Poetry

A poem a day keeps the Shrink at bay!

Write More, Complain Less

Posted in Throwback Thursday: Treasures from the archives

“Complaining is easy,
writing is hard”
Gun Roswell

Write More, Complain Less

Why do I write?

Simply, because it feels right
If I did not write
The page would be quite white
Therefore, I continue to write

Write more, complain less!

Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Sailor, and a Writer

Looking into
A writers mind
You may phew
On what you find

Look in,
Carefully

Surprisingly
Lurking
Emerging

A

Tinker, Tailor,
Soldier, Sailor,
Rich Man, Poor Man,
Beggar Man, Thief

Peeping Tom, Stalker
Pervert, Prude
Sister, Brother
Loud Mouth, Mute

A

Antagonist
Protagonist
Killer, Saviour
Bad behaviour?

Winner, Looser
Coward, Hero
Or simply a Zero?

Storyteller, Liar
Truth teller, Denier

A questionable character?
Or just a clever Actor?
Psychopath,
Or, on a Path?

Writer, Politician, or a Crook?
Did I get you hooked?
