River Negro

“Row row row your boat
Down the river Negro
Merrily merrily merrily merrily
Life is going full steam!”

Nostalgia

When you are remembering
The “good old days”…

…How things seem better in so many ways
Only now wishing
Would stay as they are
And nothing and no one would go very far

Island Life

Not a pin drop can be heard
Not even the chirping of a bird
On this island far and remote
Be sure to bring a full tote
There will be no ships nor boats
Just a very, very wide mote
Between you and the creature comforts
But we can promise you lots of
Hard work and windy air
But to be fair
You wanted to get away from it all!

Pirates

“Shiver me timbers
For I am getting sober
Pass another bottle
And we’ll go full throttle!”

Pirates

“Aargh!
Pirates we’ll be
Nothing will stop us you see!
We are tough and loud
Even Mom would be proud
Our daily fishing now is done
It’s time to drink, dance and have some fun!”

Ah, Nostalgia
That sense of euphoria
Would even impress Gloria
When you are remembering

Quest for the Daily Post

quest-2

Is this a road to nowhere?
Or is it taking you somewhere?
A place unexpected,
For a few selected?
So be very careful what you wish for
You may end up getting it!

Water’s Edge for The Daily Post: Two

“Life is a travelling to the edge of knowledge, then a leap taken”
D. H. Lawrence

Water’s Edge for The Daily Post

Landing softly
Like, into a big cup of coffee
Swimming around calmly
The water cool and salty
What did I expect?
This is sea water in all its respects!

Fish daring near
Without any kind of fear
Cool, I think
Now I am the king (or maybe queen)
Of all the sea creatures
Didn’t expect that
In this feature!

Water’s Edge for The Daily Post

When standing on the edge
I made this solemn pledge
To dive in
Even if,
There would be ice thin
Luckily,
This September weather
Is a reminiscent of a soft feather
More so,
Than a rainy autumn
Boy,
Must the Forecast Gods feel dumb!
