“Cats are like music: It is foolish to try to explain their worth to those who do not appreciate them”

The Girl and The Cat

Would you look at that!
The girl with the cat
On the sofa, laying flat

No time to chase a rat
No time for a little chat
Not even an eyelid will bat

No time for the internet
Nothing playing on the cassette
Nothing moves, on the chess set

If you want to bet
The only comment you get
“What the heck,
Are you staring at!”

Monday, Bloody Monday (BEST OF 2016)

Posted in BEST OF 2016

“Why is Monday so far from Friday, and Friday so near to Monday?”

Monday, Bloody Monday

Monday, bloody Monday
It is certainly not my fun day
Still five days until Friday
This could well be my die day

My calendar filled with meetings
No time for eating
Feeling like cheating
When trying to catch a break for peeing

No use in struggle or fighting
Almost worse than being struck by a lightning
Dealing with the disappointment
Because there is no ointment

Another working week has started
From my leisure time I was parted
Doing my best to survive
Just wishing to keep in the drive

Tell me, do I really hate Mondays
Or is it just the illusion of a fading Sunday?

Quote A Week Tuesday (03-01-2017)

Posted in Quote A Week Tuesday

I have chosen to a few thoughts on new beginnings and the new year in honour of the first Quote a Week Tuesday of 2017. Second one:

“For last year’s words belong to last year’s language
And next year’s words await another voice.
And to make an end is to make a beginning.”
― T.S. Eliot

Just another Monday
Wish someone would bring me a sundae
To complete this mundane lunch
Before I start to hunch

Seat in the Shade for Seat Sunday

Posted in Seat Sunday: Photography and Poetry

“A throne is only a bench covered with velvet”
Napoleon Bonaparte

Seat in the Shade

The scorching sun
Leaves you burning
Like an overcooked bun
Hoping the sun to fade
Trying to find shade
From this seat
In the shade

Nope, not a punter,
But,
A wanna be hunter
No time for banter
I have a plan here
I am going to be a mini vampire!

Come near me if you will
You may be in for a thrill
Because I got some skills
Yes, a feast I will cook
For you on the grill!”
