“Traveling – it leaves you speechless,
then turns you into a storyteller.”

Verbania Revisited for World Wide Wednesday

12

Sailing the gorgeous lakes of Italy
Watching the clouds filling the sky to affinity…

But not time for the weary
When the land is getting too neary
The Captain yelling “Virata!”
Better do, as he says,
Or you’ll end up singing in “castrata”!

For this week’s quote, for us poetry lovers:

“Poetry is the art of creating imaginary gardens
with real toads.”

Escalator for Mundane Monday

Posted in Mundane Monday #83

“I now find magic in the mundane. I’m also more creative –
better able to look beyond the obvious and come up with new story angles.”
Deborah Norville

Escalator

escalator-1
Living life in the mall’s simulator
When riding up and down the escalator
Keeping control, like an operator
From ride to ride, like a navigator
Each passenger, like an imitator
Step by step, feet moving like alternators

Sorry,
No wheels said the administrator
Or you will be labelled a violator
And thrown off from this cycle
Phew, just glad I was not a skater
Maybe sooner, than later
He’ll quit being a hater
Learn how to become a collaborator
And only then,
Be able to ride on the escalator

A Royal Seat for Seat Sunday

I’m not ready to sit down in a chair with my name on it yet”

A Royal Seat for Seat Sunday

Fitted for royalty in this suite
I am rooted in this mighty seat
Comfortable from teeth to feet
Existence now complete
This certainly was a worthy treat
And most certainly worth the tweet!

Happy National Cat Day!

Happy with my kitty
So I wrote this little ditty
Why don’t you sing along
To the tune of this familiar song

Soft kitty, warm kitty
Purring on my lap
Sleepy kitty, happy kitty
Why don’t I too take a nap

My little ball of fur
Listening to you purr
Life is kind of a blur
But this is how I prefer

Black Cat for Caturday (two)

“A black cat crossing your path:
Usually signifies,
that the animal is going somewhere”
Groucho Marx

Black Cat for Caturday

Sleepy eyes
Still a spy

In this house
Maybe a mouse?

‘Oh that louse
Will not escape
My scrape!
No, not this time
No, that would be
A big crime!’

Usually signifies,
that the animal is going somewhere”
Groucho Marx

Black Cat for Caturday

Alert, awake
Nothing would shake
The determination
Not leaving this station
For any reason
Except,
For the hunting season
After all,
Next night fall
Will be
Halloween

Black Cat for Caturday

Do not disturb
The sleeping cat
Or a big hurt
Is a matter of fact!

Black Cats for Caturday

On patrol,
Sneaking around
Like trolls
When night falls
On this eve of all hallows
Soon the beast swallows
Its prey
Oh, you can only pray
It
Won’t
Be
You!

Shine for The Daily Post

An unusual event
Over suburbia manifested
A late afternoon halo effect
Painted a glowy silhouette
