White for Mundane Monday I one

White

Whiter than white
The blanket so tight
Woven onto the ground
And into our minds

Yes it’s winter
Oh joy!?

(She says sarcastically
What she means really)

Quite the splinter
And a clever ploy!

First it was nice
Now it seems
You are staying
Just of spite

“Black and white is abstract; color is not. Looking at a black and white photograph, you are already looking at a strange world” Joel Sternfeld

Day 3

Frost bitten branches and leaves
Above a small dwelling still heave
The wind cold and freezing
Breathing in the throat keeps on wheezing
“This weather, certainly takes your breath away”
Just be careful not too long to stay
Warm mittens and a thick coat
And certainly a woolen scarf for that throat

“Black and white creates a strange dreamscape that color never can” Jack Antonoff

Day 2

Winter continues with all its muster
Snow pouring down, faster and faster
The forest with its trees covered in light
Powdery crystals in the colour of white
A passageway in front quite clear
Do not hesitate or fear
Take a step into the wonder and delight
And soon you have something about to write

“In the beginning it was all black and white” Maureen O’Hara

Day 1

Snow covering, all of the land
Just like designed and planned
The Winter’s hand
Lays heavily on each strand
Not one inch de-clutched
Not one place untouched
Nature has made its mark
With a white noiseless bark

Snowy Seat on a Sunday

It may be cold outside
With lots of frosted snow
But as the sun comes from its hide
You need to take it slow
Take a seat for a while
Even if it’s not your style
And simply enjoy with a smile…

But, thank goodness: It’s almost summer now!

Just An Other Saturday?

“The sky may fall on our heads tomorrow”

Just An Other Saturday?

Early morning
Dark skies
The wind howling
The rain pours

Just an other Saturday morning
In a month of Winter

More darkness to follow
Life empty and hollow
Through the window
The outside world
Only but a blur

But,
Just look out!
Something happens
A single white flake
Then an other
Could it be…
Snowing?

Lightness surrounding
From the skies to the ground
Happy thoughts, clear mind
Nothing more need I find

On just an other Saturday

A February Saturday
Opened up a gallery
Of a painted nature display
The setting sun
A web of colours spun
Across the horizon

Contrasts for TBT

Posted in Throwback Thursday

There are dark shadows on the earth, but its lights are stronger in the contrast”
Charles Dickens

Contrasts

Enjoyed the fall
On many a stroll
At the door
Winter is knocking
With white
Everything blocking

Frosted for TBT

“Winter covers the world in crystal white magic”
Carolyne Roehm

Frosted

Like icing on the cake
Frosting forms on the window
Where ever the wind cold blows
The fragile frozen flakes
Suddenly, without warning, appearing
Before once more disappearing
Shapes for the imagination
The nature’s true creation
Trying them to capture
Preserve for the future
Always fails
The only thing, which remains
Is a tall tale
Without any trail
