You are probably already aware that I am a huge fan of Sir Ian McKellen and the legendary actor turns 80 years old today! With no signs of slowing down having been in the West End last year, still starring in films and currently on an epic UK tour to celebrate turning 80! I will be heading to see it in August when he comes to Newcastle!

Andy’s chilling! There’s a ceiling fan above this spot, a fact not lost on Andy.

What!? What!? What!? Dougy just sauntered by.
Oh well, “Caturday’s for chilling,” purrs Andy! He lets the affront pass.
Finding Nemo in North West Bali
Great post from : ALMOST ITALIAN:
Do you enjoy snorkeling and diving? Bali has some delightful areas to explore underwater and as the temperature is always warm in this tropical zone, there’s no need to don a wetsuit.

This year’s Balinese underwater adventure was enjoyed by Mr T and our daughter: the trip was a birthday gift from daughter to father, and will be another diving adventure they will recall forever. Due to my increasing lack of confidence on the open sea, especially in an area known for some ‘interesting’ currents, I remained behind and enjoyed another massage. These photos were taken mostly by Mr T, with his cheap underwater camera.

One of the best diving spots in Bali is in the north-west of the island at Pemuteran. The village, at present, is…

Letting Go of Home
Excellent post: go check out the original!

For years I dreamed of travelling this fabulous continent with only a camper van and my best friend, (and hubby in case you are new to the blog) Q. I was heavy into my career, building, growing, climbing that corporate ladder but as I sat in my office staring out the windows I would dream of being somewhere else. I felt stifled, uninspired in my life. I was successful but I felt empty inside like something was missing.
Snippets of the life I truly wanted were granted to me via holidays and vacations but once I returned to my life of commute, home, commute, I would quickly push those memories away so I wouldn’t be reminded I wasn’t where I was supposed to be. With obligations growing I worked on, adding responsibilities to my job and knick knacks to my house. Over time I would forget the feelings the vacations…

“The Flowers That Bloom in the Spring Tra La”

No, my wanderlust has not taken me to the tulip fields of Holland but to the Tulips of the Valley Festival here in Chilliwack, British Columbia, an hour’s drive from Vancouver. My last visit to the festival was in 2015 and which I shared with you in my post Petal Power. With the Festival’s new location this year our visit on Tuesday was perfect for this week’s Photo Challenge as no borders needed to be crossed to visit this little piece of heaven on earth filled with its seven million blooms. Enjoy the slide show and have your spirits raised with this seasonly perfect Gilbert and Sullivan classic from the Mikado performed by the D’Oyly Carte Opera Company.

Helsinki Central Station: An Art Nouveau Tour de Force
Check out excellent photos of my home town by a fellow blogger!
You gotta love big, buff guys sportin’ pageboys and holding glowing globes. I mean, really. And you’ll find these stoic, Prince Valiant look-alikes standing guard in front of Helsinki’s Central Railway Station.

Here is a toast to a great year.
Now let’s meet & mingle, shake a leg & jingle, connect & interact with other awesome folks in here.
If this is your first-time visit, the rules of play are outlined below, if you are an old-timer, you know the drill.
Grab some refreshments arranged down the page. Feel free to indulge, these are zero calories😉
Just some little party rules:
- You must mix and mingle with others. Don’t be a wallflower. Go say hello to someone, follow them home – this is the only time you are allowed to follow a stranger home on a first date…
