Light and the Shadow

“There is always a battle going on, between the light and the darkness, quite the cliche actually” Gun Roswell

Light and the Shadow

When the darkness finally withdrew
None of us, really knew
What might be lurking behind
The darkness, we now considered divine
But as the first sings of the new
Reflected through the clouds few
There was no questions asked
Only, a few in awe let out gasps
As the blinding rays of light
Struck us all with its powerful smite
All of us, stunned to the very core
Some, swooning to the nearest floor
It took some getting used to
But soon enough, all but a few
Had a new entity to worship on
And it it seemed, this one, was quite strong

Winter Madness

“Nothing like a snowstorm in the beginning of spring to bring out the madness within” Gun Roswell

Winter Madness

When the early march morning beckoned
It was time, most of us reckoned
For nice, warm, sunny weather to begin
After all, it was supposed to be the start of spring

Alas, the weather gods above disagreed
Raising hell, with a cold streak instead
Pouring to the very ground as much as possible to be
The white powdery stuff came down on our necks

So, is there a lesson to be learned here?
Maybe, as long as we live on this blue sphere
Never expect the good old days with weather great
And always be prepared to the worst, with a bursta
After all, we live in the “good” and not so good modern days!

Seat in Monochrome

“A seating in black and white, like from an old move set!” Gun Roswell

Seat in Monochrome

When you are all dressed up nice
And smelling like flowers and spice
Would it not be prudent to take a seat
Some place nice and totally upbeat

Strolling down the busiest of streets
The eyes spy something unique
A cafe with tables so quaint
Reminding of yesteryear, even the paint

Making waves as toward the cafe I sway
Soon enough, at a table I am on display
Like a picture prefect setting from a film noir
Hey, don’t mock it, until you yourself try!

The black cat, who sat

“So, the cat is black, and ain’t taking no slack, it’s good is all!” Gun Roswell

The black cat, who sat

The blackest of cats
Quit prettily sat
On the street so flat

“Move along you darn black cat!”
A passerby evilly spat
And did not even shake his hat

But the pretty black cat
Just continued without a fret
Watching, observing life on the stat

After all, she was not from here
But from another sphere
Far, far, far away behind the atmosphere
Sent to watch us
Us small humans with all that fuss
And then, without much
The pretty black cat
Vanished, just, like that!

Just, a few bricks

“Do you want to be another brick on the wall, or maybe, even on the floor?”
Gun Roswell

Just, a few bricks

When they laid down the bricks
And added some mortar in between
They did not realize the slick
Particle slipping just there unseen
Once the wall grew taller
The particle fitted in, smaller

But as the years went by
One by one on, just like on the fly
The particle got a lot bigger
Until it could no longer stick there
Bursting out of it’s confined space
It made with a loud bang its way

Soon enough, rolling in the floor
Made of bricks, of course
But the participle, no longer small
Just let it self, casually out the door
Into the great wide world it ventured with a smile
To look for something more outside the life
Of the existence of just another brick on the wall

Umbrella Weather

“When it rains, stay under the umbrella, when it shines, get yourself a parasol” Gun Roswell

Umbrella Weather

When the rain comes down a pouring
Despite to the weather gods imploring
For some sunshine or at least a break
In the monsoon type of a state
The morning had started already
And no ending was seen ahead
The only option without being soaked
To bring a hefty and large umbrella on board

But then the clouds started breaking
Yeah, there is nothing like nature faking
The blue of the skies soon peeking
And the clouds of greys aside fleeting
A smile emerging on several of a face
Yeah, just because it puts you in that kind of state
Then, soon enough the umbrella will be changed
To a frilly and colourful parasol, out of this place!
