“But he that dares not grasp the thorn Should never crave the rose” Anne Bronte

Thorn in my side (Daily Photo)

“Come closer, so I may see you better” the little plant whispered

I hesitated for a moment, after all, the thorns looked very sharp

As if sensing my hesitation, the plant continued:
“It’s ok, my dear, I won’t hurt you”

I smiled and stepped closer. I was in awe, mezmerized by the beauty before me.
As in a haze, I watched my hand getting closer and closer to the inviting thorns…
And before I realized what had happened, it was already too late.
I had been pricked, with a deadly poison.

Quote a Week Tuesday (2016-05-03)

For this week’s quote of the week, I have chosen a reminder for us wanna be writers, a guideline I myself like to follow:

“Complain less, write more”

“Very little is needed to make a happy life; it is all within yourself, in your way of thinking” Marcus Aurelius

Happy Face (Daily Photo)

It may sound sappy
But I am feeling kind of happy
My lunch also agrees
And turned to something unique
A smiley face on my plate
Must have been faith!

Happy 70th birthday to David Suchet

David Suchet as Hercule Poirot

“I’m never bored, never ever bored. If I’ve got a day off I’ll sit in a cafe and watch and observe. I’m a great observer” David Suchet

Happy Birthday to David Suchet aka Hercule Poirot

Whether Hercule Poirot
Or a damsel in a dress
I must confess
I am partial to either or

On television, film or stage
Many a different faces
This multitalent embraces
Travelling without much stress
Accompanied by his charm no less
Even on the Orient Express

Looking forward to many more plays
And wishing the happiest of Birthdays

Inviting and soft as butter

Peep Hole

Nightfall, across the horizon
The view mesmerizing
Even through a tiny peep hole
They call a window
