Archipelago 2

Surrounded by water, what could be better?” Gun Roswell

Archipelago

A bridge carrying you over
To the paradise, or sort of
It’s an island surrounded by water
Maybe even get, a pet otter

Alas it’s heaven for those
Whom seek solitude and prose
So come on down get your dose
Of eternal, sometime surreal

Dream of the Finns
Where life really begins
On an island, in the middle
Of nowhere, without a paddle

Archipelago

What, do you see?
Rock, and the eternal sea?
Or something else?
A dream?

Harsh life on an island
Nothing to keep you smiling
No grass, no trees
Blues, greys as far as you can see

Maybe so,
But before you step in that dingy and row
There is much more than sorrow
If you can let some time borrow

The nature wild and rough
Most of it still untouched
The wildlife may wary
Hope you wont get scary

Of birds a flocking
Especially when you’re cooking
And then plentiful sun
Under that surely some fun

But remember the changing weather
Better buckle up with a tether
When the cool storms hit
Then you really are up for shit!

Three times the Ruins

The Amphi-Theatre

Only, in the city of Athens
Can you find, a theatre, on top of the ruins
The ghosts of all the ancient thespians
Playing their parts better than any one alive can

Listen, learn, and take a good long around
The buildings and mighty castles might haven been torn down
Pillaged, plundered, and even burnt to the ground
But inside these walls of history, there are secrets to be found

Sit down on the rock solid seats near
Wait a moment, for the actors to appear
Enjoy the play, of tales from the past
You can stay as long as you like,
For his performance will forever last

Marble on Turquoise

Marvel the marbles so pristine
Even after centuries, in the sunlight they gleam
The skies so blue, in every shade of hue
Sometimes turning into turquoise, maybe by choice
But stunning no less, I must confess

The ancient ruins, the pillars of knowledge
Just as knew and shiny like brought here from storage
Telling us all kinds of stories
From the past, until today, but never boring
Structures, architecture, just feel that texture

They don’t build them like they used to
That is one thing for sure!

View from up Here

Once you have climbed to the tallest of mountains
The view, from up there, is nothing short of breathtaking
City scapes of the ancient past, may not have long to last
But the tales of endless history, will even the evidence surpass

Sit a moment, enjoy the silence
Then listen carefully, of the whispers
Of all those, whom here before you have passed
They have left their mark, just look in the grass

The footfalls may have fainted, the buildings now tainted
But remembering the times of yester year
Means nothing ever will ever disappear
As long as we remember our own past, it will here forever last

Sunset Landing

“The plane boss, the plane!”

Sunset Landing

Late in the day, the sun setting, moon coming to play
But the last rays, gorgeous, in the tiny window displayed
Seated, with belts, waiting, patiently, for the inevitable
When the short landing strip, will be finally visible

Soon enough, the sign is up
The voice in the speaker, preparing this seeker
The journey, of a life time awaits
Can hardly in my seat or skin stay

A little time, after dark, after landing on the mark
Stepping out in to the great unknown, into the adventure bold
Friendly faces greeting, I am soon deep in
With warm, moist air on my skin, the pale moon light on the trail

It is time, to begin, living, again

Tableau

“What wonders lurk behind the walls?” Gun Roswell

Tableau

A painting hanging on the wall
A picture, from something before
An island in the middle of the sea
To this place, where I want to flee

Feet balanced, trying hard not to fall
As I am peeping through the heavy brick wall
Spotting, a peaceful existence, there in the distance
Painted so real, in front of me looks so real

I want there to get
If only these walls would me let
To live on the island so small
Seen, on this beautiful tableau

Shadow and Light

“More fun in the shadow, right?” Gun Roswell

Shadow and Light

What things lurk in the shadows rim
Evil or good, why don’t you go and take a look
Maybe you will like what you find
Maybe, there is something so fine
Or maybe, even something divine
It will make you want to live there for good
Even though you know, you really not should
The temptations whispered into your ear
As you enter the darkness without fear
Deep down you know it is so wrong
But you are determined and think you are that strong
Resisting the urge to stay
As you only come along for a short play
After a while, there is no more time
And maybe you feel just fine
Soon forgetting there ever was a light
But the nagging feeling, gives you fright
Starting a struggle to get away
But the light, is only on a small display
Nothing more than a tiny dot
As you remain sitting there, in your darkened spot

Seven Cats for Caturday (seven)

“There be cats here!” Gun Roswell

Seven Cats for Caturday

Nonchalant

I don’t care
If you sit there and stare
I don’t care
My time has no spare
I don’t care
I know I got the flare
I don’t care
For I am more important
Than anyone there

Elements

“Let’s get back to the basics” Gun Roswell

Elements

Cool turquoise waters under the scorching sun
The air as clear as blue, with a touch of fluff of white fun
The rocks and sand, together combine a mass of land
A touch of green, the grass purest you’ve ever seen

The smallest of atoms, forming some atolls
The colours blooming vivid, in the flowery livid
Sooner or later, masses start to form, into a uniform
Of sorts, for more solid beings, animals and humans, living

Until the palette is complete, then only, take a seat
And enjoy the tableau of it all, elements, creatures great and small
For without these elements, this place would be none
And soon enough, we would also loose, all the fun
