Winter Tales 3

“The fresh footfalls in the snow in the early morning before the wind blows”
Gun Roswell

Winter Tales 3

Just after the early morning sunrise
Awaiting, behind tight closed blinds
A seasonal and unexpected surprise
During the long dark night
Something soft, bright and white
Onto the bare ground fallen from the skies

Shrieking our of happiness and utter joy
Up out and about the rare weather to finally enjoy
Putting on snow shoes and out in to the cold to venture
For today, is the day of that long awaited great adventure

Winter had finally full filled its promise
Pouring all the fluffy soft powder to each and every crevice
Now nothing more perfect than clear blue skies and sun
So what if we play hooky and get one day of fun!

Winter Tales 2

“Frozen is the water across the lake, yeah so walk on it, it may or may not break!” Gun Roswell

Winter Tales 2

The forest quiet and oh so very still
Nothing head except my footfalls drill
Deep into the frozen snow surface
As in deeper I venture without prejudiced
My breathing getting heavier
As is the cold surrounding weather
No time for thinking or even stopping
To admire the views up popping
I am on a secret mission
And it is to take a hike without intermission
In this winter wonderland of sorts
Before it all once again melts

Winter Tales 1

“The frozen landscape is pretty, when looking from behind the window in a nice and warm place”
Gun Roswell

Winter Tales 1

When the temperatures hit below zero degrees
Celsius not the other kind though, then it all freezes
The cold seizing it all, soul, body and even the floor
If you stick your nose out the door
It will surely make you sneeze, because of all the cold
But there is a sense of adventure
If you into the great snowy white want to venture
Just remember to bundle yourself up
In warm clothing, all way to the nose stuck
Grab a pair of old school skis
And into the great wide open you’ll leave
Don’t forget the apparatus for snapping memories
Those will last way beyond, when the winter soon enough flees
For with this type of warming on the loose
You might be stumbling into water filled with geese

Blue Shadows

“That time of the day, when the sun has almost set, and all that is left before darkness, is blue”
Gun Roswell

Blue Shadows

The blues cast their tall shadows
All across the snow covered meadows
The silence, so softly breaks
Nothing, no one stirs or even shakes

It is that moment of the short day
Which between light, and the darkness lays
That total moment for a short while stays

A moment of calm
A moment of one single colour
A moment of blue

And then, just like it never was
The darkness totally engulfs
The land, the sea and the skies
As night time, has descended and all over lies

Freshly made tracks in the snow

“The ski tracks, in the freshly fallen snow, nothing lack, until the wind blows” Gun Roswell

Freshly made tracks in the snow

Early morning, just at dawn
Something odd, into the soft white ground fall
The flakes so thin, so delicate
In beauty they will nothing lack
But a deep cut into the very core
Will make the gorgeous blanket sore
As the devices made out of plastic
Cut deep into the delicate blanket
Leaving scars a while lasting
A shadowy darkness over the softness casting
Bleeding, without healing
Until the sky breaks into tears
And healing soft flakes
The opens wounds place takes

January Fields

“The sunset of January, over the blooming fields; still thinking, it must be June” Gun Roswell

January Fields

When the sun emerged
After a long period of darkness
The nature was on its smartest
Thinking, since there was no snow
To let all them pretty flowers just grow
Confused they were
When they popped from their sphere
Finding warmth and light
Without any kind of fight
Against the cold and white cover
Which usually over them hovered
In this supposed month of Winter
When everything froze, even the splinters
But this time
The weather was just fine
And the setting sun in the sky
Provided them with enough of light
To keep growing stronger
As the days too kept getting longer
Maybe, Summer would be here soon
After all

End of the holiday season

“The holidays have ended and the weather changed too, what are the odds!” Gun Roswell

End of the holiday season

The ever consuming darkness on the outside
Needs to be shedding, with some much needed light
All the small decorative candles flickering bright
On the window shill, I once painted white

As I watch the weather in constant turmoil
I venture back to the days with seasonal joy
The ground always covered with so much snow
When going outside was fun with only a toboggan in tow

Alas those days may have passed
And the changing seasons are of the past
But somehow the silent smog outside the window
It is still comforting enough, even with a little wind blow

Seated in Samos

“Seat by the busy street or seat, by the seashore” Gun Roswell

Seated in Samos

Running around, in a small town
Too busy to see, and everywhere to be
Never time to stop, to really take a load off
But the exhaustion eventually catches on
And there is no more ways of staying strong
Then it’s time, and what’s about to happen ain’t no crime

Pick a seat, any of them looks really neat
Just at the local cafe close to the water’s edge
This is the place to a respite pledge
Order some juice or coffee maybe sample the local toffee
Feel the energy returning, the tired gears again churning
Soon to the streets you may want to seek
Just remember, to sometimes, take a load off on a seat

Cat reflecting

“On the pond, a reflection, so strong, it’s almost real” Gun Roswell

Cat reflecting

The image on the surface, so vivid
The face of a hunter, quite livid
Pondering the choices to be made
On this, warm and sunny day
Should I go in for a dive
Trying the perfect fish to find
Or just wait, looking for that bait
The hooman with the big fish
And then try to then enlist
For my perfect slave of food
Just because I am looking so damn good
Hanging here, on this pier
Waiting, debating, what to do next
Oh, all them choices, could I care any less?

Grey in monochrome

“The feeling of totally calming greys, when the world seems too colorful, that is monochromatic!” Gun Roswell

Grey in monochrome

When the world seems to bright
The senses overwhelming with light
Colorful vistas everywhere where you look
Wishing to dangle off of this stimulating hook

Escaping into the architectural indoors
May turn out to be an even bigger chore
The internal and bright decors
From the highest ceilings to the lowest floors

Then a thought by some sort of surprise occurs
Maybe, these colours would somewhat less hurt
If toning them down in to the very basic of things
Yes, that really could work and cause a spin

Around for some hundred and eighty degrees
Turning down the volume of all the things seen
To a nice and soothing less freaking up scale
As the monochromatic then lifts up its gorgeous vail

Ah, this is so much better with lesser pain
As schemes with only certain elements tickles the brain
Colours are always nice and dandy
But sometimes the fewer shades, fading to greys, are more handy
