International Women’s Day 2020 #EqualForEach

Seat in Monochrome

“A seating in black and white, like from an old move set!” Gun Roswell

Seat in Monochrome

When you are all dressed up nice
And smelling like flowers and spice
Would it not be prudent to take a seat
Some place nice and totally upbeat

Strolling down the busiest of streets
The eyes spy something unique
A cafe with tables so quaint
Reminding of yesteryear, even the paint

Making waves as toward the cafe I sway
Soon enough, at a table I am on display
Like a picture prefect setting from a film noir
Hey, don’t mock it, until you yourself try!

The black cat, who sat

“So, the cat is black, and ain’t taking no slack, it’s good is all!” Gun Roswell

The black cat, who sat

The blackest of cats
Quit prettily sat
On the street so flat

“Move along you darn black cat!”
A passerby evilly spat
And did not even shake his hat

But the pretty black cat
Just continued without a fret
Watching, observing life on the stat

After all, she was not from here
But from another sphere
Far, far, far away behind the atmosphere
Sent to watch us
Us small humans with all that fuss
And then, without much
The pretty black cat
Vanished, just, like that!

Just, a few bricks

“Do you want to be another brick on the wall, or maybe, even on the floor?”
Gun Roswell

Just, a few bricks

When they laid down the bricks
And added some mortar in between
They did not realize the slick
Particle slipping just there unseen
Once the wall grew taller
The particle fitted in, smaller

But as the years went by
One by one on, just like on the fly
The particle got a lot bigger
Until it could no longer stick there
Bursting out of it’s confined space
It made with a loud bang its way

Soon enough, rolling in the floor
Made of bricks, of course
But the participle, no longer small
Just let it self, casually out the door
Into the great wide world it ventured with a smile
To look for something more outside the life
Of the existence of just another brick on the wall

Umbrella Weather

“When it rains, stay under the umbrella, when it shines, get yourself a parasol” Gun Roswell

Umbrella Weather

When the rain comes down a pouring
Despite to the weather gods imploring
For some sunshine or at least a break
In the monsoon type of a state
The morning had started already
And no ending was seen ahead
The only option without being soaked
To bring a hefty and large umbrella on board

But then the clouds started breaking
Yeah, there is nothing like nature faking
The blue of the skies soon peeking
And the clouds of greys aside fleeting
A smile emerging on several of a face
Yeah, just because it puts you in that kind of state
Then, soon enough the umbrella will be changed
To a frilly and colourful parasol, out of this place!

The Secret Island Getaway

“The secret cottage on an island, yes, my land, definitely (in my dreams at least!)” Gun Roswell

The Secret Island Getaway

When the world gets to much
And you are filled with such and such
You want to get away from it all
To a place hidden and very small
It may not look much
Alas, it was intended as such
A truly hidden place
Where time almost still stays
A getaway for only one
That is, maybe for some fun
There could be another added
But just for now at least
That place exist myself to please
And brains are left at the door
As soon as I stepped inside
And my foot falls on the floor
This is the secret of secrets
And there are never any regrets
Of coming here
Even if it is so very near
The hidden place in the shadows glum
Where only me and myself dare to slum
And if the sun would choose to shine
That is also very fine
This place of hidden is not defined
By weather, mood, even smiles

Bike Ride Day, Everyday

“Ride on a Sunday, ride on any day, just jump on your bike and ride away!” Gun Roswell

Bike Ride Day, Everyday

It doesn’t matter what time of the year
There is no weather bad enough to fear
When your trusted bike beckons for a ride
That is the time for you to hop on and smile

Ride, ride, ride, until such time you are tired
Ride to the store or the nearest seashore
Ride until there is no more feeling of bore
Ride, along the ends, ride along the time

And when you are done riding
Hang up your bike high up on the wall
Because you, are done hiding

Phone Home, or ?

“Our daily lives are so mundane, we get taken over by what is immediately in front of us and we don’t see beyond that” Benedict Cumberbatch

phone-home

Phone Home, or ?

A dialer device
From a different era
Had to suffice
Let me tell ya
An analog connection
No visual perception
No texting
Sure no sexting
Just a calling machine
The only mean
For ancient times
But oh how time flies
Now we all have
A mobile device

Que Sera, Sera

Cafe side seat

“Seat at a cafe, there is so much to see, just down and start watching” Gun Roswell

Cafe side seat

Whether the weather allows
Take a seat, please, sit down
The cafe is just snug enough
For the two of us
Order something long lasting to drink
A coffee, and maybe even a doughnut to sink
Into the drink and then your mouth
And after the hardy snack
It is time to start on the people scout
Without prejudice, carefully watch
Each and everyone as they hop and scotch
Pass you by, like they were on the fly
Notice the details, the quirks
And then, dig deeper with your search
Each and everyone more unique
Never mind the looks or physics
They are all a work of art
To be realized sooner or later with a bark
The humans and animals of this place
Make up what we call some kind of race
But on this Sunday in this seat
For me, myself, observing them is totally neat
