Life in a Fishbowl

There’s such a fragile, thin veneer of illusion between the words “together” and “alone”.”
― Bradley Somer, Fishbowl

Life in a Fishbowl

Feeling glamourous
Standing tall
In this tiny fishbowl
I call home

Not so average
These see-through walls
Like a giant peep hole
In the twilight zone

Needing some leverage
I built a space small
Where my tired soul
Had time for its own

Now the damage
Of this famous ball
Is under control
And I, am finally, alone

Lighthouses
The white houses
Saving lives
Oh, so many times

Almost Art

think you can find all the elements that you can find in great literature in mundane experiences” Harvey Pekar

almost-art

Almost Art

It’s off the chart
A piece of objet d’art
Looks kind of smart
Add it to your cart
If you have a heart
And a complimentary tart
Will give you a jump-start
For no one can tear it apart
Because it’s almost a work of art

Is it a smoke?
Is it a gun?
Is it a pipe?

It does not poke
It’s not even fun
It’s just a hype

It’s a piece of art

Take a seat in the snow if you dare

“The snow is everywhere! It keeps on coming down, and fills the ground and everything else, is lost inside of the white fluffiness“ Gun Roswell

Take a seat in the snow if you dare

The beachside stroll, not so easy, during the winter time, no matter if the sun is shining, because the snow, has taken over the world!

So, for those, daring to venture to the outside, even the seaside, none too open nor wide, during this seasonal time, the benches beckoning to take a load off after a long walk.

But, what will said traveller there find, if nothing but endless piles… yes you guessed it, snow!

Still, either take seat if you dare or then, find a friendly person with a shovel, remove the snow, and voila! A more comfy seat is revealed from the beneath.

Sitting in the sun, even in minus degrees, can be fun!

The blurry line

“Sometimes lines being drawn are as fickle as the waves hitting a sandy shore” Gun Roswell

The blurry line

Drawing lines, borders, erecting fences and walls

That is what the humans like doing to the point of boring

Because in the end, those hindrances will be blurred

Just like the soft waves hitting the sandy shores

As all of it will fade in the end

And were they to begin with such an good idea

Or even keeping anyone safe

Just some fancy human concept protecting what is supposedly theirs?

But to be fair, for a moment a wall or a fence will keep away the fear

When all the lurking evil is out there trying us apart to tear

The bike ride wrapped around the tree

“Not exactly the latest technology, the coolest of models or the fanciest of colours, but it will get you where you need to go to.” Gun Roswell

The bike ride wrapped around the tree

The busted ride, the bike from beyond the years alas even without any gears, while peddled will take the trip, just about anywhere imaginable without fear. Far or near.

Because old and rusted doesn’t necessarily mean useless, especially such a sturdy made ride, somewhat refurbished but mostly it’s just mostly basic.

Alas the riders are never complaining, as this man made two wheeled bike will always get you where you need.

Take a load off in the snow

“The snow is everywhere, even having taken over the seats in the park!“ Gun Roswell

Take a load off in the snow

Snow, snow, snow, a lot of it all over

But if you don’t mind a little bit of cold

Then perhaps, a seat covered with snow

Is just that perfect spot

For you to take a load off?

Simply remember to dress up accordingly

As the cold weather might just become a displeasure

The dampness of it seeping through

Loose pants, if you did not remember to dress up accordingly

But if you did, then just take that seat

And enjoy your day, in the, well, snowy haze!

Sunset on an empty beach

“The sun is setting, no matter if anyone is watching it, going away for the day“ Gun Roswell

Sunset on an empty beach

The beach empty, void, of any kind of life

Not even of the crab, ant or a mosquito kind

Nobody is there, observing the days end

The colours painted across the skies

As the setting sun makes it way to lie

At the bottom of the high seas

Where it during the night time lives

Alas, they are all gone for now

All those enjoying the daily sunshine loud

Only the darkening shadows remain

And so, the sun will be setting

Without an audience to clap

But it does not really matter

As this kind of event happens every day

And maybe, some other night

The sun will its very audience slay

Sunset Low

“The time of the year when the sun will fear the coming of winter, laying low during the day and even when setting” Gun Roswell

Sunset Low

End of the day will come no matter the times.

It can be a little later or even earlier depending on the seasonal chime.

For the late autumn or fall, the light of the day will try to stall.

But never winning against the night the darkness soon upon.

The sun though never faltering its stance no matter the dance.

Late in the year or early in the hours of the new morn’.

The rays will remain there on the surface just one more moment time to stall.
