“When preparing to travel, lay out all your clothes and all your money. Then take half the clothes and twice the money.” Susan Heller

World Wide Wednesday Presents: Delphi

History written in stone
Time to get my mind blown
Hiking up the many stairs
Counting my steps in pairs

The many ancient ruins
On top of the mountain
The reward of the effort
Which made me sweat a lot

Herself does she admire

Share each Friday, on your own blog, one photo…or maybe even a gallery of some of your favorite photos that you have taken during the week, that make you smile or that was a great photo capturing opportunity…anything really! And as photographers are often known to say, “The best camera is, the one that you have with you!”

Favourite Photo Friday, 2015 Photo Breakdown (2016-01-22)

Those of you snapping pix, know this to be a tedious task, since to be honest, they are all favourites of the moments they were taken, why else would you have shot them in the first place, right? Trying to limit to just one or two photos is difficult for any post, but trying my best here from the several thousand photos shot and posted during 2015 😉

For this week’s breakdown, I have chosen three photographs each from the following topics:

All creatures, Great and Small
Ready for the Close up
Moon, Moon, where art thou?
Early Bird catches the Sunrise

Hope you enjoy the walk down memory lane of 2015 in photographs!

Alphabet (The Daily Post)

The Daily Post Weekly Photo Challenge: Alphabet

This week, let the alphabet be your inspiration: find a string of letters. Try a multi-photo gallery to collect images of single characters. Find some beautiful typography, or look for letters hidden in natural forms. I’m excited to see your ABCs!

Drumming a Beat

No need for a seat
Feeling the heat
As I am quite sweet
On dancing to the beat
Of a different drum

“A black cat crossing your path signifies that the animal is going somewhere” Groucho Marx

Caturday, 2016-01-16

When the black cat
Was crossing the street
She was chasing a rat
Trying to act discreet
Hiding behind a big hat
Awaiting her treat

The grounded bat
Knew he tasted sweet
Stood still on the mat
There was no time to greet
Only time, for combat

After a long while
Both standing still
Trying to act hostile
But without thrill
So instead of the usual
They decided in mutual

This tale’s end
Will the norm bend
Cat and mouse decided
To shake their paws delighted
The lesson of this tale?
Sometimes it’s good to fail

Faded Footprints, David Bowie, In Memoriam

David Bowie: In Memoriam

DB

“Don’t tell me the sky is the limit when there are footprints on the moon”

Faded Footprints

footprints1

Just a few faded footprints
Left behind on the ground
Think of them as blueprints
To vision and sound

Living in the presence
For time is of the essence
But follow them I must
Before they fade into dust

“Oh Gravity, Thou Art a Heartless Bitch” – Sheldon Cooper – The Big Bang Theory

Weightless, Two

Gliding across the skies
Between the clouds she flies
Sometimes out loud she cries
But up there, no one hears
Of her fears

Weightless, One

The Daily Post Weekly Photo Challenge: Weightless

Some of the things that always remind me of gravity include (but are certainly not limited to):
* Dancing all night long after the age of 30.
* Carrying a human baby for more than three minutes.
* News of a plane crash right before I embark on a trip (because that’s when all planes crash).
* Putting on skis for the first time in a couple of years.
* Building blocks. Especially building blocks.

Feelings of being fearless
When up in the air she is,
