The cold hand of winter

“The winter is the cruelest season of them all, at least, that is the way it was described before” Gun Roswell

The cold hand of winter

Everything deeply buried in the cold air and frozen snow and ice, which admittedly looks very nice, when not having to shovel the stuff or slip and break something off. But, the snow and ice is also a cover, a sort of a shelter against the cold weather, especially for the nature and the delicate seeds and those animals whom are deeply in their winter sleep. So, before going off and scolding all that snow and ice, which mostly, is not that nice for the human dweller, there is something good about this season as well, like the protectiveness to nature it gives. But also the pretty and gorgeous vistas of the snowy fields and forests, the statuesque contracts when a snow storm has passed and left behind all kinds of things looking artsy and nice. And of course, for those appreciating the ever changes scenery, us, the card carrying photo snappers never weary of getting ourselves out here and taking the perfect pic, this winter’s season will give a lot of slack, and you don’t even have to walk far, as it’s all there, even on the back yard. But, it’s pretty cold outside, most of the time in winter, so dress up warm to avoid the cold hand, of the dreary winter.

Monochrome on Monday

So, we meet again! My dearest, not! Monday! Why can’t you be gone already?” Gun Roswell

Monochrome on Monday

Monochromatic
It’s really electric
Even with only a few colours
You can smell the odours
Of the world of greys
Where all the light
And even shadows stay

Monochromatic
Is the world often seen
But even the plain shades
From white to all the greys
The nuances are there
You just need to stare
And up they pop, in your face

Monochromatic
I am getting quite ecstatic
The dance of light
And the bass of shadow
Never me fail
Just letting it all go
The bright colours
Do not bother me anymore

Hazy Waves

“The sea seems a tad hazy today, must be another weather front approaching, perhaps a sunny day or even some warm weather coming our way? Anyway, I am feeling lazy, so as long as there is no storm or snow on the way, I am fine“ Gun Roswell

Hazy Waves

The sea on the side of the beach, seemingly hazy, some might even say, the water looked lazy, as the gentle waves lulled the boats on the shore, not even one fisher person in sight, perhaps as it was too bright, even if the sun was shining from behind the fuzzy clouds up there in the air, it was simply a day hazy and oh so fair.

So, for the landlubber who had sworn never to set one foot on the sandy beach, just to save their tender feet from the pebbles laying beneath, well, today they too, had to eat their words as on this beckoning and lazy day, with the soft shroud hovering there all over the place, the landlubber too, made the decision and then quickly like a soft flying hen, made their way to the sandy shore, where most people now did not feel it too much of a bore, laying about like seals of the high seas, letting the waves wash over them, rather hazily.

A golden moment arrived

“That golden moment, reflected, in the windows, in the afternoon light – looks like we live in the golden city!” Gun Roswell

A golden moment arrived

The windows reflecting the light
As the afternoon’s sun is still bright
Colouring all the surfaces with gold hue
Completely irradiating the feeling of blue
A lyrical moment for the mundane grey
The feeling of dull quickly fading away
As the tall towers and the low windows
Make us believe in fairy tales and wonders
Our city now the golden one
Before the illusion comes undone
And we are back to the mundane vision
Of dull surfaces needing revision

Monday, we meet again

“So, Monday, we meet again! I really was not looking forward to this, at all, any chance we can stall this?”Gun Roswell

quote

Monday, we meet again

I knew you were so much trouble
As soon as I had laid my eyes on you
Like the good old space telescope Hubble
Or some kid without proper shoes
I would be so totally and completely lost
If I didn’t have you? (That’s a joke right?)

Yeah, what would any kind of week be
Without us, human kind of people, to curse thee
Because it can really only get better
After, this dreaded day of a Mon-dee
