The Passing Of A Star Trek Legend: Nichelle Nichols, 1932- 2022 — Via Starloggers Blog

It’s with a heavy heart that it must be reported that another Star Trek legend is no longer with us. Nichelle Nichols, who pioneered the groundbreaking role of Lt. Nyota Uhura in the original Star Trek passed away at the age of 89. Nichols had suffered earlier a “mild stroke” in 2015, had health issues […]

The first season for the latest Star Trek TV show to stream on Paramount+, Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, has just concluded with a strong episode (“A Quality of Mercy”) that represented the best stories of the season. The show is a spinoff of Star Trek: Discovery and another prequel to the original Star Trek. In this case, the show chronicles the voyages of the starship Enterprise under the command of Captain Christopher Pike (Anson Mount) a few short years before Captain James T. Kirk assumed command.

Getting this out of the way, this series is fantastic with its much needed and refreshing back-to-basics approach for Star Trek. The franchise has been faltering lately with subpar live-action entries, Star Trek: Discovery and the second season of Star Trek: Picard. However, the franchise feels reinvigorated now with the new series. A huge part of the success of

Happy Star Trek Day!

“Live long and prosper! We come to serve!” Spock, Star Trek

Happy Star Trek Day!

We Trekkies will always keep on Trekking
Watching, observing, learning, burning
For the next new show to come on streaming
Fandom totally strong, that is certainly no jest
Whether we agree on the canon or look for the best
The story lines may vary, sometimes fun or scary
Cartoon, future or the past, Star Trek will last
The series now over fifty years old, still going bold
Or rather boldly, where no show has gone before
And happily digesting all of it, simply because; score!
Yeah, some might think us nerdy and bored
But we don’t care, as long as there is a convention or fair
Somewhere around the world held, even virtual cons
Trekkies have no qualms in watching that tube of a thing
Where even some of their favourite characters sing
Yeah, they really do that, even if we did not ask!
But never mind, whatever is going on is fine
As long as the Trek keeps on going boldly,
Where no other fan has gone before!

Happy Star Trek day to one and all, whether you are a fan or not at all!

Happy Birthday Sir Patrick Stewart (13th of July)

“A couple of years ago, I was asked, ‘How would you like to be remembered?’ And my answer was ‘That I was very funny.’” Sir Patrick Stewart

Happy Birthday Sir Patrick Stewart!

Main Pat Stew

Totally, a fellow charming
Maybe even somehow warming
When you make us unintentionally laugh
And sometimes, even cry
But, with a voice like that
Sir Pat, in that funky hat!
Maybe a tad, canny as a cat
Who could ever resist
Of being rewarded with a kiss
By a great as fellow
You’re such a helluva
An actor, a Captain and yes, a King
And totally able to sing!

Wishing you a merry, happy and totally great Birthday
And as the cliche goes, if I may

Live Long And Prosper
Oh, Captain of Captains!

Happy 90th Birthday, William Shatner!

“If you make a fool of yourself, you can do it with dignity, without taking your pants down.” William Shatner

Happy 90th Birthday, William Shatner!

O Captain, my Captain!
Or is it Mr William Shatner?
Difficult to separate
Call it luck or call it fate

Watching my favourite show
Alerted by the familiar klaxon
Captain James T Kirk is on
Then nothing can go wrong

When on Vulcan
Do as the Vulcans do
Dear Captain, my Captain
Dear Mr Shatner
Live Long and Prosper!

A very happy Star Trek Day to all!

"Live Long and Prosper" Spock, Star Trek

A very happy Star Trek Day to all!

Call it campy or even quirky
Call it the wagon train in space
All the familiar cardboard sets
And the best written scripts
Sci-fi, entertainment and humanity
All at their very best in the same place
This is the most a TV show gets
Don’t tell me, you are not gripped

Watching re-runs
With your best chums
What could be more fun
Maybe sitting out in the sun?

But, we are Trekkers
Nerds, geeks and well, trekkers
Looking up to the stars
Daring to go very far
Well, at least, in our imagination
During the syndication
With our favourite television show
To which much we owe

Live Long and Prosper, Star Trek!
