“I have been a tinker, perhaps a tailor, certainly not a soldier but tried, oh yeah, certainly some kind of sailor…. What? I’m a writer aren’t I?“ Gun Roswell
A writers life for me!
The uncanny sniper, having everyone in their crosshairs, not to shoot mind you, simply to observe, watch and learn, but mostly there, simply to steal whatever ideas they can from you and that one would be called, the author.
And beware, as no-one is safe from the snide gaze of the patient one sitting somewhere out there, high up, their eyes never leaving their target until they are totally done, getting what they needed, for yet another story to write down.
“There is just something so freeing in writing by the seat of your pants, the flow simply pouring into any tale possible… but the editing of said supposed masterpiece is pure hell!” Gun Roswell
Plotting, planning, always writing
The guidelines for any good writing, apparently are those of careful planning, plot devising and character development, not to mention world building and keeping it in the rigid story structure as taught by the myriad of books out there for novice and even the more advanced writers and those whom are still searching for their, thing?
Sure, but if those same teachers also urge the bard to write what they know? About their lived life, the things around them, the daily grind? Well, then far off are we as life, really has no such structure. Unless you count the birth, living and death as such, a three act structure perhaps?
But then, how can you write that story if you are still living?
Okay, taking things to the very extremes as this author usually tends to do, no matter life, writing or well, plotting the secret world domination…oops, that one was supposed to be a secret? Guess the cat is once again popping out of the bag eh?
But I do digress.
The type of writer, no matter what the books, the tubes, the articles might just suggest are only guilders, recommendations. After all, writing, is an art form along any other similar activity. And whether you prefer to write whatever pops up into your wicked little mind and do not care about plotting, planning and such, then you are as correct to be doing so as those whom simply love to plot and plan and whatnot.
It’s all good, as long, as you keep on, writing.
As there is no right or wrong way, to simply sit down and write.
Today is the final day of CampNaNoWriMo2021. My total word count so far is 60,435 of the target of 50,000 words, so I not only achieved my goal, but exceeded it! Go me, yay!
Well that is the good news. The other news is that I still have some effort to complete the book, which will be the seventh/eight depending on the editing in the series of “Perfection” which is my upon coming sci-fi book series. So, thus the final leg of book begins and I, will be typing away through the ever lightening nights 😉
This has been a busy month of writing to say the least but also there was a great incentive to do so once again with the gang at NaNoWriMo.org foundation and those writers taking part in this challenge feeling my pain or fun or what ever the sensation might be, to be on top of things and to achieve the allotted timeframes.
If you haven’t already, then go and check out what is going on at the NaNoWriMo site as there are all kinds of information for writers and also these cool camps to participate in, find other writers and finally start working on that novel you had planned!
I just published my new author page on WordPress: Gun Roswell Lots of “coming soon” stuff over there, as I sort of jumped the gun, pun intended, before even one book has been launched. But they are all written so, soon, promise! And hey, one has to start somewhere, right!? Self promotion and all that jazz!

“Welcome to my page of books, stories, poetry and yes, even a podcast or few (which is on the menu for later). There is sci-fi, action, crime investigation, romance, sometimes explicit, often times general kind of themes and well, some odd stuff too. But, all the stories of mine feature strong women/women types in them, always.”
I reached my goal for 50000 words in a month. A new novel I just started on the first of November, writing every single day and now, I am close to finishing it too, because once you get going, there is really no stopping!
“There is something odd about a person, who just sits by the computer all day long, sometimes, even the night and types in words to an empty page, yup, definitely very odd indeed, and that person, is me” Gun Roswell
I write, all the time
I write I write I write I write and I totally write Just, because, I really don’t have any life Therefore, it seems,I have all, of the time In the world reserved for me, simply, to write
My day job, that once I loved, does not much count These days, I simply do, the needed amount My family, yeah, I have it, at least some kind of bunch But they never really cared for me, that much
So I keep on writing, slowly and surely emerging Deep, in to the many worlds, I am now creating They seem so much better for me, better for all At least, inside my own head, I am having a ball
But when, I sometimes come out, to the real world I look around and see, that time surely has turned And I am now, an outsider, standing there, observing Never really participating, and inevitably, learning
That I, was left behind, so to the others, to be kind I return, to my darkened room, stand, beside my desk For me, there is no time, to stop and take a simple rest Rather, I keep on writing, as it’s really the only thing
I am capable of doing anymore, because I can’t think: I open a new page, a blank one, and start the one Thing I am friends with, and the words are pouring Now, like never before, because I am, always writing
