Rush Hour in Winter

“Riding to work in a horse driven sleigh, that is certainly a display, especially in the city centre!” Gun Roswell

it’s the early morning traffic
Which left its very first tracks
The snowy streets, filled with sleet
No good for bare feet
But a horse and a buggy
That is the way to travel snuggly!

A quiet ride

“On a horseback, on a road to nowhere” Gun Roswell

A quiet ride

Late night
A quiet ride
On a horseback
No destination set
Laid back feeling
A moment steeling
Along the coast
Air cool with frost
The view stunning
The last rays fading
Soon it is dark
No sounds,
Not even a bark
Steering my stead
Just that away
Straight ahead
Sand glistens
In the moon light
No one in sight
Which is fine
The whole world
Is mine
Moving along
This is the score
Just myself
And the horse
Life is good
All as it should

A little while later
Something stirs
It is me
Did I
Imagine it
Waking up
All is a blur
It was only
A dream so vivid

A long sunset ride into the night

“Riding into the sunset, it’s such a cliche, but looks cool in the pix at least!“ Gun Roswell

A long sunset ride into the night

The night falls and time stalls. The soft sand on the beach giving a perfect path for the hard hoofs to thread on making their impressions to last at least a moment before the waves hit the shores adding to the lore. The last rays of the sun trying to catch as moving towards the very west, but that is just the small part of this mission, into perfect bliss. Which we were told does truly exist. And this adventure is about finding out, whether it is the truth or not.

Riding well into the darkness, just as the stars are starting sparkling, feeling like royalty or at least some sort of leisure people. The ride going slow, with several of us in tow, but it’s just the flow of this ride of the night. Catching all those hidden treasures lurking in the dark shadows, as the ride continues towards the sacred meadows, the watery kind, hoping that one place of peace to find, at least on this calm night, where the winds have stopped blowing and totally now flowing with the universe, without reverse.

Riding in a horse drawn buggy

“The wintery season beckons for a ride in the snow, in the open air, the sleigh, but not with reindeer, but, well, horses?” Gun Roswell

Riding in a horse drawn buggy

Winter is the time, the time to feel fine or at least, in trying to enjoy, the weather outside, cold, damp, freezing, too dark, too bright, and oh so totally filled with snowy white.

Alas, if you can get in the mood, the perhaps you should, try the one activity passed down from the ancient past, or at least since the invention of the wheel? Or maybe it was the usage of sleigh with a few exotic animals in front pulling the thing?

Well, whatever the choice was back then and maybe not so long ago after all, these days, especially in the more southern regions, the ones doing the pulling of the lay ass non walkers slacking around are, horses, but of course(s)!

So, get inside that sleigh, and let the tall proud gorgeous animals out to play, as they slay the drawing of the sleigh, totally so. Hauling the wide load all the way through the snow and hey, if you aren’t going to enjoy it all, then shame on you!

Ride, ride, ride a horse buggy in the fresh snow

“Snowy and freezing roads ahead, but the buggy, certainly, is a warming bed“ Gun Roswell

Ride, ride, ride a horse buggy in the fresh snow

It may not have been a special occasion at all, at least, not since the days had grown shorter after Fall, but there was just something so great, about a day after, a heavy snow fall. The idea of spending some time out there in nature without care, maybe even, a picnic of a different kind, as just thinking about it, got wide smiles. Packing up the basket, especially the hot beverage. Mittens, shoes and hats, and thick coat at that, then ready and able to hitch that magical ride, outside in the open wide. But also cold, so don’t forget to bundle up and sip some of that old magical warming elixir of life (coffee).

It was a freezing day after all, so remaining warm, was the key, but not so much so, to limit the vision to see. All the snow covered fields and trees, nothing but miles and miles of white to be seen. Certainly, a must on the list, was that one side trip, to the not so open sea, as this time of year it was all invisible and chill. Maybe spot an island or too, and then take a slide on the ice out of the blue. Then again, spotting all that white, yes you guessed it, the colour of the season, of the one simple reason, snow! Might just have been about the coolest thing you ever saw. Or then again, not. But what ever the feeling for winter is, this one thing, at least, you have to try out, because as the buggy moves, you will shout!

Sunset Ride

“Sunset, sea and horses” Gun Roswell

Sunset Ride

A slow ride, on the soft sand
When the sun, is about to descend
Nothing but silence, surrounding
The nature clear and grounding

My stead, moving along
It’s stride, quite strong
Just me, by myself, alone
On this nightly journey, so long

To sun has finally set
And into the nightly sky, the moon let
It’s thin light still so bright
On this journey it just might
Stay all of the night

Middle of the Road

Not quite the main street of San Francisco
Certainly not the hippest lane in Seoul
It’s just a quaint itty-bitty place called Espoo
Right in the middle of nowhere
Somewhere
Near the North Pole
