The lighthouse on the island

“It’s a solitary stance, the two huddled together for warmth. But, during the darkest hours, the light will guide those lost at sea to a safe harbour.” Gun Roswell

The light might be the only hope
For those travelling in the darkness on a slippery watery slope
Guidance the one thing the structure solemn needs to do
The weary traveller back on the right path
No hardships endured

Standing small or tall?

“The light its only purpose and only at night, but still this small, tall structure, is so much more“ Gun Roswell

Standing small or tall?

The light of it never failing

Even if at daylight there is really no telling

It’s a simple construct made out of concrete

Something of an eye sore perhaps

But once the day is over and night falls

Time around everyone starts slowly to stall

This structure of sorts comes alive

Shining its light to those at sea forever

Whether on their best path or peril

Never failing to guide them home

This sometimes worshipped light giver of the lore

Stand alone

“Solemn, alone, in the middle of nowhere it glows, in the deepest of darkness, while in the daylight, a mere shadow remains“ Gun Roswell

Stand alone

For the safety of others, it never bothers to ask the why

Why it is standing there all alone

Alone in the day, alone in the middle of the night

The night so dark it will be the only light

Light for those looking for their very path

Path never ending, only time there to be spending

Spending all alone until the very ending

Ending cycle of being all alone

Alone at the end of the pier it stands

Stands always and forever, alone

Down along the long pier

“On the look out for some lighthouses, along the seaside, on the tall piers“ Gun Roswell

Down along the long pier

The hunt has begun, something don, just for the heck of it or shear fun, as searching for the perfect spot along the long and winding pier, until something interesting I am able to see.

A construct of a sorts, tall or even a short, with a fancy light up on its very top, a guiding one at that, to keep the brave and fearless sea farers safe from any kind of major shipwrecks.

Running up and down, like a crazy person, trying to figure out, where all the great ones are hidden as not all tall piers are equipped with those features, with the magnificent kind of old school architecture.

But continuing on with my very search, as who knows from which corner these houses of sorts might lurk, because even if they aren’t that popular these days, some still around may lay, and finding one would be the high light of the day.

So, carrying on, walking along, each and every single winding and tall, pier I can see near and beyond, until that specific and perfect lighthouse comes my way, as it is the most perfect display for the long, search filled and darkened cloudy day.

The lighthouse keeper

“Life, in a lighthouse, can be, mostly, a louse, but only, if you let it” Gun Roswell

The lighthouse keeper

The dreary lighthouse, with its grumpy kind of keeper, solemn and all alone
The only function, for this, keeper, is to make sure, the blinking lights are on
Climbing, each and every single night, up the tall stairs, in a blight
As keeping on, the ever-shining beacon, is an ongoing arduous fight
No matter the weather, no matter the time of year, the task always there
Waiting, each evening, for the keeper to stay alert, while getting upstairs
After all, the safety, of so many ships, passing by, is so high
And completely dependent, on this one and only keeper, to have in mind
Never resting, always alert, even if the feeling of a somewhat jerk
But the light must be kept burning, no matter what else in the world is churning
Certainly, not a task, for any kind of adventurer or even a thrill seeker
As this is the lonesome job, of this lonely and sometimes angry lighthouse keeper

Day 6

A tall tower and its smaller twin
Living, side by side,
On an island, made from winds

With the blue ocean wide
And the land around them thin
No hiding, from the high tide

But together they survive
For they are kind
And nothing them, can divide
