The odds and ends of nature

“There are things you see and others you find, in the vastness of nature, some more belonging there, than others ;)” Gun Roswell

The odds and ends of nature

Discovered, in the gorgeous scenic scenes in the lush green forest
The summer soon over and left behind but one leaf
Now discarded, on the side, on the pavement, of a busy street
The colours soon fading, but not until there is some staining
A reminder of nature, on the side of the slap of concrete

But then, also discovered, something totally odd and out of place
A shopping cart, right smack in the middle of a stack of leaves it lays
Was it the bears or elks, whom decided they needed to run a beer run instead?
Of drinking from the clear flowing creeks and some new experience to seek
Or maybe, some over the top squirrels, running amok in the shop, just for the thrills

Whomever it was, and whatever they did
The odds and ends of nature, never dull for one single bit!

Blue and the Parasol

“Under the shining sun, beside the blue seas, my parasol and I, sleep” Gun Roswell

Blue and the Parasol

The sun”s shine beckoned with its shiny warmth
To come and lay down on the sand covered sea shore
Where the ever changing blues are the colours of all
And time itself has come to a complete and utter halt

When stepping into the bare and fine stand for the first time
I cannot help but to be amazed of the beauty and then crack a smile
Feeling so tiny in this place open and totally wide
As even the critters beside me are so completely kind

Side by side, me and natural inhabitants coexist
As the calming effect of the sea and the skies me enlist
The other side of the world no longer matters or exist
As me and my parasol have laid a claim this spot of pure bliss

From sunrise to sunset , myself I let
This gorgeous natural resort leave me with an effect
Of calm, unhurried, never too worried kind of specs
Who knows, I may stay here until the time of my final rest

Beginning of winter

“Some of the things in nature are still going strong” Gun Roswell

Beginning of winter

The feeling now so strong
When all but summer is gone
The winds a howling in the corners
Bringing in more storming
There is no where to hide
As the nature is getting bare and wide
But keep looking around you
There is still beauty to be found
In the pretty lonesome leaf
Holding on to it’s grip
To the might old oak tree
Just keeping on with a feel
It will come back again
But it won’t be until next spring
The leaf covered pavement
Hiding all that ugly coloured cement
The majestically barren tree tops
Make you want to stop and look up
Nature maybe slowly turning
But the fired within, are definitely burning

Hiding leaf

A half rotten leaf
Hang on to the tree
So strongly willed
That even the chills
Of autumn weather
Could not breach the tether
As strong as the mighty oak
It was grabbing on
Some said, it was a joke
Nothing could survive
The circle of life

“Well,” said the lone leaf
“In your face Mother Nature,
Serves you to let your hatred
Leashed onto a poor piece of dying matter
But now I am finally striking back at ya
So, deal with it,
For I ain’t taking shit
I’ll be here
Way until next year!”

Berried treasure

On the strongest of tree branches
A bunch of free range berries launching
Their planned dive, several feet high
Plunging into the ground below
With sounds loudly thundering
Making the earth tremor and wondering
Wether an earthquake of a great magnitude
Hit the surroundings without prelude

A frozen rose

Even the strongest and prettiest rose
Did in the cold temperatures freeze into an eternal pose
Preserved, for a longest of time
In the most natural cryogenic slime
With a mixture of pure clean water and the weather
The gorgeous flower has now finally been tethered
To the very ground, it once proudly sprout from
A preserved three dee image, now never gone

Autumn vibes 2

Autumn vibes

Scenic waterside

The waters filled with all kinds of flying creatures
Carefully approached them and they’ll let you in on all their cool features
Swimming acrobatics, splashing the waters, diving for fish
Dancing in unison, grooming one and other, begging for a reward you certainly won’t miss
Row boats with fishers and bench filled onlookers amused bathing
Spotting that one great moment in the seasonal warm weather lazy
Nature, animals and human a like
Are enjoying the moment in this colorful day divine
Autumn’s gift for one more day
To make the best effort of nature before winter makes it’s way

Crops

Corn, berries, apples oh my
Fruits and veggies of all of them kind
Autumn harvest is at its best
Now is the time to pick up the best
Pick them, store them, preserve them for later
You will soon too be a very happy eater
Maybe go to the forest for a moment or two
Track down the mushrooms popping out of the blue
Finally prepared with all these nature’s given goodies
And over the winter time you will run smoothly

Harvest Bees

“Gathering nectar from the flowers in the garden, quite smart” Gun Roswell

Harvest Bees

When the day begins
The garden alive, almost like spring
The birds in the trees sing
Their song, most likely, of the pending fall
As they sit and sing, in the trees tall
Sitting, in my solemn seat
Watching, the life on display, such a treat
With the smells and monotonous sounds
Everywhere, to be found

And then, comes, the annoying buzzing
As if someone started, really loud humming
Breaking, the calming routine of it all
Just as I, was thinking, the time had stalled
They are so loud, even if their bodies are quite small
They fly by, really, really fast
Like some kamikaze planes, from the past
And finally landing, onto the flowers pretty
Suckling in, all the nectar, really quickly
Clearly, the harvest time, for our winged friends
As their hive, on this precious food source, depend
Gathering it all ,with professional precision
Then bringing it back, for the queen’s decision
As to whom shall be rewarded, with the nectar of gods
That scene would indeed, be, an interesting thing, to blog

Two of red

“I love the deepness of a passionate red” Gun Roswell

Two of red

Hanging, together, no need for a tether
We are close, so close to each other
There is no need for any kind of binding
And if either of us would get lost out there
The invisible bond is still us together holding
Only need to shout and each other again, we are finding
