Boat ride on a low tide

“Romantic, or just absolutely fantastic, when on a boat ride at low tide, during the setting sun” Gun Roswell

Boat ride on a low tide

On a river, the wind making me quiver
But only slightly, as I am still smiling
My best person at my very side
And the setting sun, painting the skies
This moment certainly could not get any better

The slow hum of the vessel’s engines
Serving as music of the angels
For the small group of travellers
Who had been lucky to get a ride
Across the dark and mystical river
At the end of a perfect day full of adventure

Soon it would be totally dark
Only light to guide our path would be the stars
But for now, the show by the sun
Was the utmost and complete fun
And the promised dinner at a local haunt
Was soon becoming in full view at the front

Steering the vessel to the end of a short pier
Even in the darkened night there was nothing to fear
The laughter of al the passengers sharing a joke
Filling the night air, by the time of dock
Debarking the small boat and a short walk later
Seated at the restaurant, with drinks and food on plater

The perfect night, with perfect company to spend
Life as I know it could not get better, until eventually
l this all has to end

The late night sunset (isn’t that when it happens?)

“Sunset, that perfect cliché which exists, almost every single day?” Gun Roswell

The late night sunset (isn’t that when it happens?)

On my way high, high up
Ever higher
Closer to the sky
On a smooth elevator ride
Up to the 16th floor I fly

From this ocean view
Reserved for only a few
Enjoying the last rays of sun
The last of the sunsets
Of the month of… whenever

Red sky in the evening divine

“The red is the colour of the magnificent sunset painted in the sky of the evening’s moment high” Gun Roswell

Red sky in the evening divine

Fire engine red, someone in the watching crowd said, as we were all gathered for the spectacle of the evening displayed in front of us on the sandy shores, and certainly never a bore was this setting told on a lore, as the sun with a loud roar dropped into the deep waters from the sky above.

It was told in a story once in the past and the glory of the moon would create such a blast at least for the duration of the night to last hurling the drowning star deep into the waters far to cool down for a moment until once again in the morning it would rise its crowning head from the watery bed.

The rays curling up slowly but surely until reaching the highest peak in the bluest of skies then warming us dwellers again with the bright white light for a while until the night once again arrived and the moon would overpower the sun, thus completing the circle of routine once again neither of them really winning the game.

But that is just fine as in the end, we truly need them both.

Sunset by the Lake

“Sunset by the lake, taking a slow boat across the moat, just to watch the spectacle” Gun Roswell

Sunset by the Lake

It’s no fake, the setting sun playing, the vivid colours laying all across the sky and land

It’s that time of the day, the setting of the sun at hand

Folks gathered from both near and far, just to have a glimpse of the spectacle, observing with mouths ajar
Those daring, will try to reach the sun and the sky, before it’s too late

Slipping in their boats across the large size moat of a lake, without time to hesitate

Rowing, rowing, rowing their tiny hearts away, just to bask in the display

Crisscross across the lake, because it’s late

”The sun is setting, because the moon is finally letting, exhausted from all that shining and so, without too much whining, going to sleep, for the night” Gun Roswell

Crisscross across the lake, because it’s late

The small lakeside, getting much more darker each passing moment, being almost like torment, for those wanting nothing more than all that  light of the day, there for all of the night to stay.

But, it was hardly possible, to sustain all that light, especially during the ever darkening night, and so, another kind of workaround was devised, that of artificial light, with an on and off switch, on its very side.

And so, even if most of them did adore and worship the sun and it’s bright light, they had come to terms with the fact, that the dark night, would be their continued plight, it was still all fine, as now, they could simply switch on, a brand new light, not as bright, but still totally fine.

Nightfall in a blue moment

“The nature, is always at its quietest and certainly best, come the blue moment before night fall“ Gun Roswell

Nightfall in a blue moment

The sun setting behind the ocean so vast
The earth once again feeling totally flat
The onlookers, in awe, simply admiring that
Which is the most powerful scene staring back

The blue hue descending across the land
Over the ground, water and skies it lands
Painting all in its wake in a monochromatic shroud
And even in silence, the effect is really loud

There is nothing more to do before morning
Just watching the spectacle in front unfolding
The brightness turning to blues without yawning
And eventually into the darkness disappearing

Sunset with Moon rise

“The sun and the moon, keep on the ballet of the cosmos” Gun Roswell

Sunset with Moon rise

Fading, into the darkening skies
Skies changing from blue to dark
Dark descending after the sun has gone
Gone but for none too long
Long as it takes for the moon
Moon appearing from behind the shadow
Shadow of the brightly burning sun
Sun now setting, setting to the horizon
Horizon where it will be rising
Rising when the turn is given
Given by the cosmos
Cosmos owning the suns, moons and stars
Stars soon appearing
Appearing after the moon rise
Rise for the nightly skies
Skies filled with light always

Calm Before the Storm

Posted in Daily Photo

“It’s always most calm,
Before the storm”
Gun Roswell

Calm Before the Storm

Before it gets colder, there is always warm
Before it starts raining, the grey clouds will form
Before it gets safer, there is always harm
Before you get to argue, remember, this is the norm

Because,
Where ever there is calm
You will soon find, a storm

Emerging Nightfall

Like a slow waterfall
Answering nature’s call
The sun is setting
Making way,
For the night’s fall

Catching the Light

A single beam of light
Struggling against the night
Quickly trying to write
And onto the pages,
Catch the last of sun’s light
