“Helsinki isn’t all that bad. It’s a very nice city, and it’s cold really only in wintertime” Linus Torvalds

A Visit to Kamppi: One

A trip to the City Centre
Can be an extreme adventure
For a ‘gal from the suburbs
Can easily get into trouble
With many a temptations
Luring in the odd location

Fabulous Friday 2016-01-15 : One

friday-1

A snowy sunny day
In the land far far away
Up North, let us pray!
Children came out to play
Even adults came forth

After all

What else is there to say
Because yet another
Fabulous and sunny Friday
Has found its way

Weightless, One

The Daily Post Weekly Photo Challenge: Weightless

Some of the things that always remind me of gravity include (but are certainly not limited to):
* Dancing all night long after the age of 30.
* Carrying a human baby for more than three minutes.
* News of a plane crash right before I embark on a trip (because that’s when all planes crash).
* Putting on skis for the first time in a couple of years.
* Building blocks. Especially building blocks.

Weightless, One

Wings spread to the widest
When on the wind she rides
Feelings of being fearless
When up in the air she is,
Weightless

“If there’s a ‘Cruel Summer’ then there’s got to be a ‘Cruel Winter,’ right? That’s all I’m saying” Q-Tip

Sunday, One

Soft snowflakes falling down to the ground
Like confetti thrown on a celebrating crowd
Covering everything in a white shroud
Looking like the skies fluffiest clouds
Enjoying the scenic vision feeling proud
Before the snowy blanket gets ploughed

“Winter covers the world in crystal white magic” Carolyne Roehm

Frosted

Like icing on the cake
Frosting forms on the window
Where ever the wind cold blows
The fragile frozen flakes
Suddenly, without warning, appearing
Before once more disappearing
Shapes for the imagination
The nature’s true creation
Trying them to capture
Preserve for the future
Always fails
The only thing, which remains
Is a tall tale
Without any trail

Fuzzy Vision, One (SL-WEEK 26)

“There is nothing worse than a sharpe image with a fuzzy concept” Ansel Adams

Fuzzy Vision, One

In focus or out of focus
It’s a little bit of hocus-pocus
Is this, the vision of one thing blurry?
Or something extraordinary?

No matter how you focus
Only one thing, is flawless
You see, the complete fuzziness
Is part of our trickery business

Look in to the photograph
Imagine your eye a spectrograph
The longer you stare
Something else appears

Like magic, the unclear
Becomes now very clear
Look even more deep
And you find, what you seek

Reflections, One

Writing 101, A Poem A Day, Day 2: Reflections
Poetry & Photography

On water, in puddles, in glass, in mirrors – reflections can clarify, blur reality, or fracture it altogether. They can serve up surreal images or a perspective that’s unexpected. Whether it’s street light-reflected raindrops or the sky distorted in a half-melted patch of ice, reflections are nature’s funhouse mirrors.

Reflections are not limited to non-living objects. Our bodies reflect our internal health and our clothes reflect our lifestyle. We also reflect internally upon our world, our physical state, or on ideas bouncing around inside our skulls.

Clear or distorted, in your poem today tell us something about the reflections you see — in the world or in yourself.

Reflections on the windows

Reflected on each surface
